When we first arrived at the historic Inn nestled up in the mountains, I had high expectations. The setting was beautiful. We pulled into the parking lot and went into the lobby. Behind the registration counter were old signs from the original days of the Inn (built in 1907), including the original key cubby holders. But when we got to...

My husband and I stayed at the Summit for 3 nights in mid-May. It was expensive, but I was prepared to love it because of stories from my elderly parents about going there for romantic dinners/dancing back in the 1950's. The lobby is charming, though it was too cold to enjoy the outdoor terrace or pool We had a large,...

We stayed here for a wedding and had rehearsal dinner, the reception, and post wedding breakfast here. The food is fantastic and the historic hotel has great public spaces compared to new ones so we spent a lot of time hanging out. The fireplace and porches are wonderful. Most of the rooms seemed to be somewhat updated (it is historic...

The Inn is located in a beautiful area within a few minutes to Kentuk Knob, Fallingwater, beautiful Ohiopyle State Forest, and other historic sites. We felt welcome the moment we entered the Inn...we were hot and sweaty from hiking and it was Mother's Day with a full house for luncheon and everyone dressed to the hilt...but we were not looked...

When staying at a historic place like the Summit Inn one needs to balance the old-fashioned charm against the lack of modern amenities. The first impression is of the beautiful setting overlooking the mountains, a wonderful enormous porch, and a large, impressive antique lobby with massive furniture and staircases. There is a nice restaurant and indoor pool; the outdoor pool...

After visiting wonderful Fallingwater, I arrived at the inn in a cold, pouring rain. I walked into the lobby with a roaring fire in the fireplace, attentive ladies at the registration desk, and the offer to help with my bags getting to my room. My room couldn't have been nicer - neat and clean, wonderful bathroom, it lacked nothing and...

I stayed here in October on weekend of my son's wedding - and the reception was here, too. The setting is spectacular - the hotel overlooks the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, and even on a cold, rainy weekend, the fall colors were very visible. My room was very comfortable, and I appreciated having old-style keys rather than swipe cards! Another...

My husband and I just stayed here while we were in the area, and we had some really mixed feelings about the inn. The pros: fabulous views, nice staff, close to a lot of cool local attractions. The cons: room wasn't super clean (ie. old hair in the drawers), service was sometimes lackluster (ie. old dirty glass sitting on floor...

a bit dated, but for the price, it was well worth the stay. The veranda/porch has great sunset view, even better than the brochure photo. We came in October, so were not able to use the new outdoor pool which will be available next summer (2015), but the indoor pool is better than most. food was very good and included...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to visit Falling Waters which was fabulous. The staff at the front desk was somewhat uninspired and unenthusiastic. The girl at the bar while we know was inundated with orders, was not friendly. Sometime just acknowledging customers makes a difference but she did not and I felt we were imposing. The breakfast...
