Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses.

My fiancé and I came to get some things done in Savannah for our wedding. We stayed here because this is where our wedding block is. The hotel lobby was beautiful! The hallways and rooms may need a little updating or a few fixes to details but overall a lovely stay. What really made our trip was the incredible staff. They were able to help us with the business center for printing. Davante (I hope I spelled it right) really made the entire experience excellent! He was so personable and remembered our names every time we walked in after checking us in. He actually cared about the guests and we hope to see him again in March when we get married!

Hotel's Favourite
We came for a weekend family trip to watch the Savannah Bananas play baseball and decided to enjoy all that the historic district has to offer. Hotel Indigo was the perfect place to stay as it is right in the middle of all the action! From Hotel Indigo you’re steps away from River Street, City Market and all the restaurants and bars you could possibly want! The room was clean and perfect, the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly and helpful…we will stay here on our next trip!

You know, the best feedback a general manager can hear is that their associates made an unforgettable impact on a guest's overall experience. You know, I truly believe that our associates include some of the best in the industry, so I’m thrilled to let them know of your kind words. Thank you again for the review; we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon. Cheers.

Our family of 4 was in town for a soccer tournament and of the approved hotel choices, this seemed like the best one. The online photos look super flattering and I must say we felt a bit catfished b/c the hotel is in dire need of updating. The carpet tiles in the halls are dingy and downright disgusting. There is an overall dark, dank feel inside the hotel. The hotel rooms are TINY. For a family of 4 it's almost barely useable. No where to put your bags, no where to comfortable sit and hang out, barely any room to walk in the room at all. The sink is in the main sleeping area b/c it won't even fit in the bathroom. The ice machine on our floor was rusted, nasty and didn't work. The curtains were falling down on one side. Overall, this just wasn't a nice, clean feeling place. The pluses are the location and the staff is friendly. There is no continental breakfast and parking was $28/night, so that makes it less of a deal. We would definitely NOT stay here again.

I hate reporting this but while the staff were nice and professional the hotel is not acceptable The rooms are very very very small, there is a damp smell throughout and it’s just not up to IHG standards

Lovely little property! Enjoyed the staff and their hospitality! Dan at front desk was super. Location was nice as well. Easy access to the market restaurants. 👌 Would recommend for business or pleasure. Breakfast buffet available for about 26.00.
