1st breakfast was late and the lady was extremely rude to customers waiting patiently. Then an employee started yelling, and throwing things at a customer waiting for breakfast. The man nicely let the staff know that the coffee was empty and another staff member started yelling at him. A supervisor was called over to diffuse the situation and she did absolutely nothing and allowed the staff to yell at the father who just let them know coffee was out. It was crazy!!! The photo is the employee who was yelling and throwing items at the customer along with the supervisor who allowed it.
I stayed here 4/29-5/1 for a 50K race in Savannah. Great location as it is a 5 minute drive to a Publix, a few restaurants and only 10 minutes to the race. They have a parking garage and a free breakfast but i left too early on race day. I did eat on Sunday and it was decent offerings. Staff was nice and helpful. Clean room and hallways.
Hotel was nice. Not easily accessible from the highway. The attendants were not familiar on the directions, ended up lost traveling to river street. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Water pressure was low but that could have been due to the time of day.
This was a very unfortunate experience. When we checked in there was a single person at the desk and her hands were kind of tied and limited in how she was able to advise us. Yes, we are still in the midst of COVID, but this young lady was not able to help out much since she was alone at the front desk. The room is clean (at least for the first day, but it was NOT to be repeated during our stay). Fairfield has an "every-other day room cleaning" policy. So, there was no service the next day, I knew that. But what happened the following day was not to be believed. In the morning we asked the housekeeper to give us half an hour and we would be out. She said nothing, but when we came back 6 hours later our room was never cleaned. We told the front desk, and the night manager came up to clean the room since housekeeping was no longer there. clean is not exactly a good description-she gave us clean towels, changed the sheets. But nothing was "cleaned". In fact the used sheets were left outside our room. The rubber stripping from the door was left in the middle of the hallway and electric outlets are hanging off the wall. The in room, coffee is AWFUL but the breakfast is even worse. If you are on a carb boosting diet, boy are you in luck! Plenty of carbs to choose from and protein comes from hard-boiled eggs that are so cold they haven't seen hot water in days. As I have told my husband for years, sometimes a bargain is just not a bargain. I can honestly say NEVER AGAIN!…
Alyssa very kind and helpful staff. The rooms are very comfortable I definitely enjoy my stay every trip around would definitely recommend to any one else to stay very clean and comfy hotel smooth 5 stars.
Nice room, comfy beds, typical breakfast of sausage and egg biscuit already made under glass. Great coffee. One room in particular, the shower curtain did not go into the tub, hence, taking a shower, the water goes in the floor, management was advised of same, whether they fixed it, I don’t know. Thermostat would not stay on the set number, you were either cold or hot. If the thermostat was set at 72, the thermostat would drop to 68 over a period of 30 minutes or so, thermostat set at 73, temperature would climb to 76. Management was also advised of that problem also. But, we dealt with it for only one night. October 2, 2022.
Stayed here 2 nights (September 17th to 19th 2022) great location and within 10 minutes walk to River Street which is very lovely at night. Very friendly staff and valet parking service at an extra cost obviously. Room was as expected in a Marriott company. So comfortable with a coffee machine and LED TV with Netflix access. Breakfast was included in my room price and had all the usual options.
Previously we've saved money by staying outside the city of Savanah, but never again. This hotel was right near the river walk area. No need to pay for parking and so nice to walk right from the hotel to the restaurants and shops along the river. Can be tricky to find as the sign is not easily seen.
Booked room based on ratings and because we have stayed at many other Fairfields. There is a lot of construction in the area so getting to the entrance was not easy. Had to wait for a front desk person. She did not acknowledge that I was a Marriott
Currently at the hotel, absolutely a terrible unhygienic unsavory hotel. I am platinum and the lady at check in did not acknowledge or care and shooed me away to return to socializing in breakfast area with friends. I gave up because once I saw the room I realized no way did I care about my status and would be out of here ASAP. Certainly won’t be lazing my way out of here! I will also inform my business not to book me here any longer or other guests when they visit Savannah. Many of the reviews are for the wrong hotel… they are listed for the one that you can walk to the Riverside, that is a different Marriott/ Fairfield Inn! That led to me requesting wrong property. This hotel is absolutely disgusting. Please search for other comments that talk about “hair”. Somebody else’s hair ( genital) was in the shower, and I agree with previous comments that there is no hygiene or cleaning. The carpet smells and the ac says “ on always “ so it loudly goes all night. The filter is very dirty and I wiped down that area with my own wipes. Pros: None I can’t even get agent at desk to have attention to me long enough to add my bonvoy account # , let alone for my welcome or any other request. Cons: Bonvoy: property does not care about status for platinum or above Parking: 12$ , but free for other 4 hotels in same avenue Staff: surly Rooms: roughly used for 5 year property, dirty, linens are worn and paint is scuffed. Hair in shower. Mold on grout. This would not pass “ Marriott muster” Final verdict: Get out ASAP — should have searched better and been more careful in reading reviews. Obviously those that talk about “ walk to riverfront” must be for another hotel because this is 5 miles from that or 1.5 h walk through a rough neighborhood including closed businesses. Wrong location wrong Marriott. I will request not to be placed here on my return next time. Live and learn. Silver lining : I am going to be very grateful and re patronize bonvoy properties that have always acknowledged me kindly previously. They can’t always give me upgrades even with certificates used but they are gracious and welcoming to business and that certainly deserve the extra spending for both business and pleasure.…
