I had a lovely lunch at the JW Marriott Plant Riverside, but this review is about my valet experience. By far, the most professional experience I’ve had! Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smile and immediately taken care of by Brandon Smith. In addition to the timely delivery of my vehicle when I was ready to leave, Brandon remembered my name and vehicle, which I found impressive considering how busy it was. He opened all doors and went out of his way to offer local suggestions for my next meal. I’m looking forward to my next visit!
First the property, then the troubles, then happiness again. The property: outstanding! Would give more stars for the excellent unique historical yet modern adaptation of a riverside power plant. This would have been an eyesore in the heart of the historic district yet with the addition of shopping, eateries, and museum quality geodes and fossils, they have extended and improved the River Street district. Trouble with windows: given the brick structure, there are a number of rooms in the Power Plant section that they offer as River view, but there is only one tall but narrow window. Room is decent size, but you actually have to take turns looking out the window. They are fifth floor with sequence 25xx; the even numbers face the river. I believe the city view rooms would have a similar issue. In the pics this is the brick level just below the giant glassed in rooms on the sixth floor! Happiness returns: with our insistence that the window was too small we were offered a 2nd floor river view room in the Atlantic building. This is the new music venue directly across from the Power Plant (shares valet and check in), and the room had a full wall of windows facing the river, and was wonderful. The suites are on the higher floors in this building but 2nd floor was perfectly fine and great for watching tug boats and freighters go past. Hallway and room were very quiet; I think even if there was a concert in the venue you wouldn’t hear it; hallway and room felt well soundproofed. All in all will likely stay here for future visits.…
We stayed at the JE Marriott Plant Riverside and met Milton, the manager and Matt H. They work in valet. Both went above and beyond to be helpful to us. They were both super professional and accommodating. Thank you for hiring such wonderful teammates!
Excellent valet service. Milton, Vernon, and Sammi did a great job! Professional service, great advice on walking routes to local restaurants, and prompt delivery of our Tesla. The car was fully charged and ready to go and the bags were carefully loaded.
Thank you Shawanda. Marriott is a better place with you serving their customers the way you do. You treated my wife and I so wonderfully and made us feel special. Thank you for your bright smile and repeated willingness to help in any way needed. Thank you, Jeff and Angela
My husband and I came to Savannah for a couples getaway and decided to stay at the hotel due to its location, amenities and being Bonvoy members. The room was lovely and we appreciated the upgrade due to our Bonvoy status. The hotel itself is beautiful and an attraction on its own. We were however disappointed with our Breakfast experience. Upon checkin we received three $33 food vouchers , one for each day, however the hotel only had one establishment serving breakfast and it gets quite crowded on the weekends. We waited for a table on Sunday before we checked out, however no one informed us that the kitchen closed at 11am, 15 minutes after we were seated and no waitstaff came to our table until after the kitchen closed. At that point our only option was the buffet, which was more expensive than the individual meals we would have ordered and slightly picked over. For a premium hotel we would’ve expected better communication, service and breakfast options where our vouchers could be used.…
Brandon Smith was extremely helpful on our last trip to Savannah. He made the valet process seamless. He was very quick and polite. Although they were busy he made us feel like a priority. He also had great recommendation on dining!
I enjoyed my vacation to Savannah Ga and seeing the wonderful city and enjoying all of its history and culture. One of the highlights came in the form of a person, Brandon Smith. He was such a great help when it came to offering places to visit, offering water to me or my wife, or just being a beacon of energy and positivity. Thank you Mr. Smith and I hope you’re able to read this review.
I am a “frequent flyer” of Marriott properties and have stayed in a Marriott almost 100 days this year alone. I very often choose the JW brands when possible. I stayed at the JW Power plant in Savannah this week with many from my company. I was very impressed with the ambiance, it’s a gorgeous hotel. The issue was the obnoxious music playing ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT outside my window. I stayed in the Three Muses building (not by choice but just where my room ended up being) on the third floor. Beautiful view, but noticed immediately upon entering my room how loud the music was. I called the front desk and was informed that the music was turned off at 9pm. At 9:30pm I called again, and was told it was actually turned off at 11. I fell asleep watching a tv show to drown out the noise but was awoken again at 3:30am by the bass of the music. After an hour debacle of calling the front desk and packing my stuff, I was moved directly one floor higher in the same building. Staff were kind but I found it extremely annoying I had to move rooms in the middle of the night because “they did not have the authority to turn off the music from the hotel bar”. Speaking with colleagues that were also in that building, they were kept up all night as well. I was assured by the staff who helped me move rooms it would not happen the next night, as the music was likely accidentally left playing. This was unfortunately not the case - the music was still playing all night the next night and was still audible from my new room, although not as loud. Frustrating to experience this especially considering the price per night. …
We had a good stay that could have been great. Being titanium bonvoy we tried to use suite nights and were told it could not be honored however we looked online and the suite was available even after we checked in. Food offerings and decor are very very good. Enjoyed our stay and would likely come back even with the bad taste in upgrade.
