We spent four delightful nights at The Drayton Hotel in Savannah. It was our first time visiting Savannah and our first experience at a Hilton Curio Collection hotel. The hotel is located in a central location of the Historic District which was a perfect location for walking anywhere in the city. The hotel itseslf looks historic and is very attractive. The lobby was beautiful and cozy and the room was very nice and had a large bathroom; all very clean. We were offered champagne upon our late arrival and every afternoon in the lobby. The roof top bar was lovely and a good place to get a close view of the port. The included breakfast at an attractive restaurant offered multiple made to order options, a nice change from other hotels. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the friendly, welcoming, and knowedgeable staff who all went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible. From the front desk staff, housekeeping staff to the bartenders and wait staff we had all positive interactions. A special shout out to Ru, our breakfast waitress for most days. We would highly recommend this hotel and wish we could find a Jem like this in every city we visit!

Right in the center of historic Savannah, you can walk pretty much anywhere. The staff at the hotel really knew their stuff, and were incredibly helpful. The rooms are comfortable, the bathroom is stocked with neccessities if forgotten, and even included a steamer for clothes which was much appreciated for the nicer outfits unfortunately stuffed into my bag hastily and wrinkled from that. The room I was in was a bit small, but as a location for just dropping off stuff and sleeping, it was a good value.

I was very impressed when I received a phone call a few days before my trip asking me if I needed any information. When I walked into the hotel I was very blown away by the beautiful lobby and the grandness of yesterday Mixed beautifully with today. The check in process was a little too informal for me as I don’t appreciate being asked personal questions. Unfortunately my second feeling upon entering the hotel was the feeling of being nickeled and dimed. I was presented with several options for upgrades but in fact they were not upgrades at all, they were a sales pitch to spend more money. That, felt very disappointing and it didn’t give me the feeling of luxury that I was hoping for. I went up to my roomWhich was quite cozyAnd well appointed. My favorite part of the room was the beautiful bathroom. I don’t know why American hotels do not have a shower wand in addition but I suppose that’s another question for the ages. The towels were all very soft and they were plenty of them. Toiletries were not replaced during my three days there. I had to ask for them. I am used to being offered bottles of water complementary to my room and Savannah but none of them are offered here, instead you can pay three or four dollars for the mini bars water. Another instance of feeling nickeled and dimed.

My sleep quality was good and the hotel does offer a turn down service but it’s the first turn down service I’ve ever had that did not include a chocolate on the pillow or a bottle of water or a bucket of ice. In fact, I noticed the first day was my shade being pulled. During the check-in process I was not told about this nor was I told that I was to receive two complementary cups of drip coffee with my reservation. Instead of telling me what the hotel offered the gentleman instead tried to upsell.

Everyone that I came into contact with was very professional, apart from the disappointing check in, And the people that ran the coffee bar were so very kind and professional.

The best part of this hotel is that Savannah’s best restaurant is inside of it. The brasserie has been the source of my last three visits culinary delights. I stayed at this hotel because I visited the restaurant and I appreciated the décor.

Would I stay here again? I think that I would as I did enjoy the property. The decoration of the rooms while I understand is trying to keep with the old timiynessof the city, it is a little lackluster. I prefer to stay in boutique hotels and savannah does not have a shortage of them. If they were to offer competitive rates, I would consider re-booking in a heartbeat but they tend to be on the upper end of things in the location that they’re at.

I did not want to post this review due to the fact that this hotel is gorgeous and most of the staff were very friendly, however they lacked training. A hotel of this type needs to put time and effort into training their staff. I am almost certain their housekeeping crew quit before we arrived, we never got fresh towel, toilet paper or a simple refresh. We had to practically beg for toilet paper, it seemed like the hotel was going through a new owner transition but that is not excuse, stop taking reservations if you cannot provide adequate service. The hotel is beautifully done, in a great location and despite it being on a busy street you could not hear the noise in your room. We were celebrating our anniversary and for the cost of the hotel the service received is not acceptable when there is The Alida, JW Marriott and The Bohemian to stay at for the same price. Hopefully the hotel can get it together, because it has A LOT of potential.

Good evening tanjocar, Thank you for your review of us at The Drayton Hotel. Although we strive to extend a perfect stay for each and every guest, it seems that we fell short on your experience. Three issues. 1 There was a very large suspicious white stain/substance on the teal throw pillow(which had a removable cover) on the bed. It honestly looked like a semen stain. I should have called the front desk, but we were on a tight schedule to be somewhere. I did take a picture. But for a $500/night room, you’d think housekeeping would make sure to also wash the removable pillow cover from the throw pillows as well... Other than that, the room looked great. 2 The next morning, we ate breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, St. Neo’s, we were the first one’s seated and the first to place our order, there were only 3 other tables seated other than ours, but it took an hour for our breakfast to come out and we were the last to receive our food AND 3 there was a WORM in the turnip greens! Which we did bring to the restaurant managers attention. And other than those 3 issues, the hotel itself was beautiful & the hotel staff was friendly.

Greetings jksmith042615, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of us at The Drayton Hotel. While I'm saddened to learn about the quality of product in regards to the pillowcase (and the need to send it out to be professionally cleaned), I'm glad you found the ambiance of your guest room enjoyable. I can assure you that we take our cleanliness across the entire property very seriously and I'll be looking into your feedback to see how we can treat the pillowcase. Having personally attempted to clean them myself, it's best we learn from your feedback and possibly even replace such item! I'll also be sure to follow-up with our management team in regards to the speed of service, and also investigate how that pesky little worm ended up in the turnip greens! I'm glad that Brittany was able to address that hiccup during service-- it seems that she handled it as well as she could have. Although you're unsure if you'd return, please feel free to contact me personally should you decide to give our property another chance. We would love to welcome you back and show you that we improved on the hiccups you described. My email address is heith@thedraytonhotel.com. I look forward to assisting you in the future and showing you what The Drayton Hotel is truly capable of! Best, Heith Pino Hotel Manager

A friend and I recently stayed three nights at the Drayton. It's a freshly designed property (I'd say "renovated," except it wasn't a hotel previously) one block from the River Walk. Beautiful lobby and rooms done in a kind of hipster/Art Deco mashup. The front-desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are attended to daily (even during COVID, when many properties aren't offering this), and a housekeeper checked in at the end of the day to see if I needed anything. Our King River rooms were enormous, with a banquette and small marble table (no desk) in addition to the king bed. Bathrooms also enormous, with a huge frosted window next to the vanity providing natural light, which I loved. The in-house restaurant, St. Neo's, although a bit pricey, was really good and the service was excellent. We also checked out the rooftop bar, but it wasn't offering much food. Disclosure: We booked this hotel through a third-party operator and bundled it with flight and rental car so got a decent price. I'm not sure we would have chosen it if we'd have to pay full price.

One of my dearest friends was celebrating her 50th birthday on St Patrick's Day. A year before the event, she asked several girlfriends to book rooms with her at The Drayton to be there to celebrate with her & watch the parade. As a mom of 3, it was difficult for me to get away for more than one night, so I was only able to book for her actual birthday, St. Patrick's Day. I was very worried I would not be able to get into my room before late afternoon, or that I would not be allowed in to join them on the rooftop for morning coffee. The staff was very accommodating. I was allowed to check into my room at 8:00am. The room (a corner room) was gorgeous & had views of the Savannah River overlooking Bay Street, as well as the golden dome of City Hall. We could've easily watched the parade from any of our rooms, but my friend chose a spot on the square for us just beside The Drayton. It was so nice to be able to show a hotel wristband to return to our rooms throughout the long parade, or grab a drink from the hotel bar. My friend had a charcuterie board delivered to the hotel, & a staff member was kind enough to carry the cheese board down to us in the square. It was wonderful to be able to shower up & nap between the parade & dinner. The Drayton is in a wonderful location & everything you could ever want to see is within walking distance. We had birthday cake & champagne on the rooftop bar as the moon rose over the river & the sunset over the bridge & City Hall. It was a lovely day & I got a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed, & I was very surprised there was no noise from Bay Street down below. The next morning I enjoyed complimentary coffee in bed while watching the container ships pass by on the rive before checking out to return to my own neighborhood 15 minutes away. I had such a wonderful time, I booked the same room for next year & the one across the hall to come back with my own family for 2 nights over the holiday. I have to give a special shout out to Peter who was very helpful when my room key initially didn't work, and to March who was always at the front desk to help me check in & out & make reservations for next year. Both were extremely personable, helpful, and friendly & added to the loveliness of the experience.

The front desk staff was amazing upon arrival, they were outside waiting for me, took my bags upstairs, valeted the car, and got an amazing welcome gift that I requesting from a local bath soaps store for me. It was only my second time in Savannah and they gave me some amazing dinner recommendations and many recommendations on what a "solo" traveler should do while visiting. The room was my favorite part; the beautiful décor with the most amazing bathroom. In the bathroom there is a huge clawfoot tub inside of an even larger shower. The King Suite I had came with a beautiful view and the room was extremely quiet; its like it was sound proof.

You are told to put your car in the alley which smells like rotten food due to dumpsters. Anyway the alley was blocked and the only other option was the middle of a Savannah street there is no shoulder etc. I went in to check in and there was no receptionist. After 5 minutes I asked the waitresses were the receptionist was and she couldn’t be found. The restaurant manager who was very nice attempted to help me. After about 12 minutes the receptionist finally appeared with a massive attitude. I told her I was worried my car would ge thot in the middle of the street to which I was informed that she has to many responsibilities and do I realize how hard she works. At $500 a night and after I drove 10 hrs I wanted a smile and help not for her to vent about her problems. This continued to the point the restaurant manager again stepped in to help because Jade was being so nasty. The room was cute but the bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned in a while as I saw blonde hair , light brown hair and dark brown hair on the shower walls. The restaurant manager came to the room to bring me a meal and comped it for the trouble she also informed me that the hotel Manager had been informed. That person never reached out. The next night I received the same nasty service from Jade. I asked her if she could possibly not move all four controls in my car seat as it took me ten minutes to find the position again and she only drove it literally 100 feet across the street and her answer was again nasty and that time she makes the controls so badly that I still haven’t found the right position again. All she needed to do was move the seat up possibly not higher the back of the seat and every other control. Upon check out I asked to speak to a manager and no one ever responded. I had to call another time and even then all I was told was that Jade is so sweet. I’m sorry but telling me how hard your job is and refusing to do your job is not sweet nor is it professional and her glare every time I crossed the lobby ruined my stay. I stayed there due to the high rankings and I truthfully only once in my life had a worse experience in a hotel and that was a cheap no name motel so this was beyond disappointing

We absolutely loved our one night stay at The Drayton Hotel. We checked in and Alexis at the front was super kind and explained our other options if we did not want to pay their valet overnight price. The room was so cool with a large bathroom that had a great rain shower head.

The location of The Drayton is PERFECT for wanting to walk Savannah. We walked many, many squares and read some of the historical plaques. Then we walked the other direction and hit Bay Street and River Street for fun and great food.

Carly and her co-worker were so nice at check out. I had left my room charger by mistake on the night stand table and they quickly retrieved it for me with a smile! We will return any time we are visiting this fun city.
