Overall a good stay. Location was OK — took 15 minutes’ walk to the river and 12 minutes to Forsyth Park in the other direction. Safe area. Convenient to have guest laundry but only two washers and two dryers to there was a line to use at 9 pm. The free DOT shuttle to the river picks up across the street and comes every ten minutes. Valet parking is the only option at the hotel for $35 a night but save half off by parking a few steps across the street at the city’s Liberty Street Garage which is $10-14/day and has security cameras. Front desk courteous and cheerful. The coffee shop on site is a slight disaster with long lines and personnel who stayed on their phones on personal call while trying to fill up on coffee orders. Door to room 507 strangely took forever to close on own so required heavy pulling to close it faster and tight. Only two main guest elevators which made for a long wait for getting on and off. Room was mostly clean: some hairs in shower and door bathroom knob had a suspicious brown stain that hadn’t been wiped down in ages. Cleaning crew came every other day to clean but never swept floors and only changed towels and gave extra toilet paper.

Location: convenient
Apparently newly remodeled, room nice, bed comfortable
Staff: friendly, but not terribly helpful sometimes
No room service unless asked for; I guess this is the world we live in today
To go breakfast sacks with yogurt, granola bar; nice breakfast room with no breakfast.....just the "to-go" sacks which were not adequate.
For the rate we paid, which I supposedly can't say here, it was extremely high for no more service than was offered.
WE had two bath towels and two washcloths in our bathroom, but no hand towels, had to go down to request them and pick up ourselves
Nobody at the front desk when we arrived; waited ten minutes for someone to show up.
Tried to get taxi help to no avail. Was told we could do that ourselves on line;
No airport shuttle service
It's amazing that we spent as much money as we did and received what I would call an EXTREMELY average stay.

The hotel is beautifully appointed. Lovely lobby and our room was very nice. Since COVID, maid service is not daily but our maid was very responsive when we asked for clean towels, soap etc. The staff was pleasant. Parts of the hotel are under renovation so no restaurant or complimentary open breakfast, however they do offer breakfast bags with fruit, muffin, bars and free coffee and tea.

It's walking distance to historic Savannah and a block away from the trolley tours.

Now for the downside. We made several inquiries about where to go and what to do, and frankly, most of the the staff weren't very informed. That was disappointing as it was our first time in Savannah. And no one told us about thedowntowner app! It's a free service that will pick you up after 5 and take you where you need to be. This would have saved our feet after a long day as we trudged home after dark from the river. So....do your research before you go and download the downtowner app!

OH! And our room must have been on a main street because it was as noisy as New York and the windows were no barrier against noise.

The hotel is very dated. One would think with this hotel being in downtown Savannah, the Marriott would put some money into this place. The first thing we didn’t care for was when we pulled up out front, we asked where the parking area was located for the hotel. We were informed they ONLY had valet parking for $29/day. What?! Ok, nice that u offer valet parking, but how about offer an option for me to park my own car on site?! Plus, with covid, we weren’t crazy about having multiple strangers in our car over the weekend. So, we parked a quarter mile down the street and carried our luggage.
Some of the front desk staff were very friendly and others definitely had an attitude that the Caucasian lady was bothering them for a cup of coffee (since u can’t sanitize your hands and dispense it yourself).
The area in the lobby where u can sit and hang out is nice enough with a fireplace. The rooms REALLY need attention! We used a pant/coat hanger to close the curtain since part of the curtain was hanging down off the hooks. Whoever made the bed needs to slow down & pay attention to detail. The top corners of the bed were barely on, so when I went to pull them down, I noticed the corners of the mattress cover was ripped and the top of the comforter (which was white) is stained and just looks dirty. The light by the left side of the bed didn’t work, which meant the usb for a cellphone didn’t work either.
The only positive thing I can really say about this hotel is that it was affordable (we used a travel site) and that it was within a 10-15 min walk to just about everything we wanted to get to.

Room was okay. We were staying 6 nights and had half roll toilet tissue in bathroom requested more and was brought ONE roll for two people for the week. No trash bags in trash cans was told by housekeeper that Marriott stopped using trash bags whats up with that. We had no housekeeping for the first two days here. When I called the front desk to ask about a charge on my credit card I got attitude from the front dest woman called SCW. She gave me a copy of someone else bill and I had to go back downstairs to get mine. She still had attitude she doesn’t need to be working in a customer service position. The big joke is the restaurant WHERE IS IT. No menu anywhere I’m my room or the hotel. Are you calling Starbucks your restaurant? Starbucks closes at 10am with free coffee stopped at 10am. Who is running this hotel? I will be contacting Marriott Headquarters on my stay and how terribly run this hotel is. Oh had to ask for more towels the first night as there was only two towels in the bathroom. Oh and Seven dollars for a bottle of Pepsi it’s a rip off. No book in the room that had local information in it. The fridge was dirty inside with what appeared to be something brown and frozen on the back bottom shelf. Disgusting.

Having previously stayed with Marriott we were extremely disappointed to find that our stay this time did not live up to the same standards. Hotel was chosen due to breakfast included and pool only to find that both are under construction. The floor in our room was quite sticky with much residue to the point we had to whip our feel with a wet washcloth before putting sandals on. We asked for room service to clean the floors before leaving in the morning only to find it untouched when we returned 12 hours later. This is after we were woken first thing in the morning as they were renovating the room next to us with screw guns into the adjourning wall.

It’s upsetting that with the money spent the expectations were completely unmet. Needless to stay we will consider before booking with a Courtyard Marriott in the future.

We spent a lot of money staying in downtown Savannah for our first vacation in over two years. We expected a nice swimming pool area, as seen in the pictures, and a fully functioning lobby with some type of breakfast and a market and/or vending area. Instead we found the hotel to be going through a major remodel. The view from our window was a torn up pool area with a pool half full of nasty water. Most of the lobby and common areas were shut down due to the remodel, and there was no breakfast available, no market, and no vending. Also, rooms were not refreshed or trash removed. Loud construction noise woke us up early the first morning we were there. There was no onsite parking and valet parking was $29. We tried to change hotels, but everything was sold out or three times the price. The manager offered to refund the first night. As of now, 3 weeks later, there has been no refund. My 3rd party booking agency has made numerous email and phone call attempts with no response from the hotel manager. All in all, I am very disappointed with Courtyard Marriott. I thought it was a reputable chain, but will be sticking with other tried and true chains from now on.

We usually are happy staying at Courtyard. We had a bad experience this time. On our first morning when I turned on the water for a shower, there was no water. The front desk said maintenance was working on it. An hour later I tried again and we had water. The water pressure was so poor, it took forever to get shampoo out and the temperature was either really hot or tepid,no middle ground. In the middle of my shower the water went out. Finally came back on. Next morning it seemed okay but water went out during my shower and then again on my husband when he showered. Third morning we had water, still not great water pressure but we had water.
We saw on website there was parking, on arrival we found out it was valet and $32/night. We opted to park at public lot down the street, which we were told was an option. Yet on check out, we had been charged for 3 nights valet parking. They removed the charge.
Other little things: sink did not drain, no premium channels, no apology for water situation.
Staff was very nice, it was clean but overall would never stay there again.

What a disappointing experience. Recommend to stay clear of this property.

First , the public space is totally under renovation. This was not disclosed at time of booking. Second, their pricing is for this place is outrageous. Third, our room was at the 5th floor along a 4 lane road. I was convinced my wife had opened the window as the noise is profound along this roadway. (IT WAS NOT OPEN!!). We both were awoken many times in the night with loud car speakers, at 2 am, a trash truck, lawn maintenance at 7a and on it went. The 5th floor has been renovated , fair enough, but the windows are pitiful. What a cheap renovation to bypass such an important step not installing insulated sound dampening glass. The public elevator was totally beat to ^%%*+

Never again will I return to this place. It needs new management and should totally close until they renovate this very beat up property. The owners of this property should be ashamed as it has likely milked this place dry.

We stayed here for 4 days to attend a conference. Upon checking out their emailed us a bill with detailed and itemized charges for each night. We did not drive nor use their parking garage but they billed us $29 for each night of our stay. We called from the airport before we boarded the plane. The staff member who answered the call said she would remove the parking charges but did not explain why the charges were put on our bill in the first place. We requested for a revised bill. The revised bill came in right after the phone call but this time they added another unauthorized/unrecognized charges and that was a food item from their marketplace! We had to place another call immediately and asked them to explain about the charges. The staff member again said she would remove it but was not able to explain what the charged item was. To us, this sounded like a sneaky way to sneak in unauthorized charges to the guests' accounts! If you planned on staying with them, Please check your bills upon checking out carefully. I wonder how much more revenues this Courtyard has been able to generate over time when their guests place trust in their brand and were not suspicious that a renowned branded hotel would do such things to their customers! There are plenty of great options in this part of Savannah GA. Stay away from this Courtyard. They are not the Courtyard that I could recognize anymore! Customer Service and Care was completely lacking throughout our stay!
