Detailed Reviews
Over all it was a great stay for a few days while in Savannah for work.
PROS -
Check in was quick
Room was good size and clean (2 Queen)
Breakfast was good with adequate variety
Staff was friendly enough
Great location very close to shopping and restaurants
Ample parking
CONS-
Can be noisy during the day and into the evening with regular plane and helicopter traffic to and from the Air Force base / Airport directly across the street.
The front parking area appeared to be a popular shortcut / cut through for local traffic.

Hotel's Favourite
First time staying here. I booked for the price and was totally surprised by the hotel. The young lady working the desk greeted me and had everything ready. Our room was 2 queen bed mobility assessable room. The room was clean and very comfortable. We noticed the walk-in shower did not have a bench or chair, so my wife called the desk. Within 3 minutes they delivered a shower chair. In my opinion the breakfast was above average. Scrambled eggs, sausage, hash rounds, waffles, fresh fruit. My wife enjoys Honey Wheat Cheerios and was happy they had the brand named cereal. The hotel has an indoor, kidney shaped pool and a hot tub. A lift chair was available for handicapped. My problem here was the1st step into the pool and hot tub. It was almost a foot high step and only one safety bar. Because of this my wife was not able to enter the pool. Otherwise our visit was great and we will stay here again.

This hotel was very nice. I did not really like the location but the hotel it self was very nice. It was no perfect, and of course you see thinks that need improvement, but overall, a nice room with friendly, helpful staff. I especially liked the room lay out because it allowed me to work while my husband relaxed in the bedroom with the door closed. That was great for me. The water pressure in the shower was also a perk for me because there was no bath tub to step into. I did feel that the facility should have a better cleaning routine. We were provided fresh towels and trash removal daily, however,an occasional deep clean to maintain this great facility would be appropriated.

What a crappy experience all around. We got in exhausted from our drive at 6:00 pm waited in line while an obviously new and undertrained employee worked the desk. We get checked in go up to our room open the door and very clearly the tv is on and there are bags in the bedroom. I shut the door quickly and my husband went back downstairs. We waited in line again and the clerk had to call the manager we were told they weren’t supposed to be in our room and then she had to get on FaceTime with the clerk to walk him through rebooking us. We finally get into the room and it’s ok. Shower is very small and the couch in the sitting area has pieces of leather peeling off. The next morning we go down for breakfast that a lot of reviews say is great. Another disappointment. The waffles were horrible and the machines were hard to work. They had jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches that you could try and use the microwave to heat up. But the microwave was hard to use and the line quickly became overwhelming. The other options were minimal and I was extremely disappointed. Half through me trying to eat a breakfast sandwich that made since my waffle was disgusting a gentleman brought out a pack of bagels that people swarmed. We were there for 3 nights and our room was never cleaned and we had to call and request new towels. We were always gone in the early morning and did not return till later so they would have had plenty of time to even just step in and take out our garbage and replace towels. Then the last night we get back from a walking tour at 9:30pm exhausted and we go to our room and the key wouldn’t work. My husband had to go back downstairs to the desk and the clerk didn’t even ask for proof that he was staying in the room he was trying to get into. Finally able to get into bed we packed up this morning and didn’t even glance at the breakfast. After all these inconveniences and obviously under trained personnel we were never even offered an apology or any type of compensation. We would not stay here again.

Dear Autumn, We apologize for the confusion at check-in with the new employee. Once a week, we do offer hot sandwiches as a breakfast option. Thankfully, we have mostly great reviews for breakfast as we have a wonderful attendant. I apologize for your many disappointments and hope you will visit us again so that we may exceed our expectations. Sincerely, Barbara Awad DOS

The only thing that’s 3 star about this hotel is the main lobby area. The first room we were put in didn’t even have a smoke detector and when you sat on the beds, the metal platforms they’re sitting on made all kinds of noise. They moved us next store which was SLIGHTLY better but still nowhere near 3 star! The beds make noise every time you move! The water pressure in the sink is way stronger than the shower pressure. The doors between the rooms are nowhere near soundproof and don’t even go to the floor so we could hear the entire conversation of the group that was next to us. We had to shove towels under the door and turn our tv up in order to sleep! The rooms are not super clean either! There was dust all over the light fixtures and disgusting handprints everywhere that just need to be wiped! Do your job people! This is NOT a 3 star hotel so if you stay make sure you are aware of that to begin with!

Dear Tiffany, Thank you for your review. All of our rooms have a smoke detector so I am unsure as to why you did not see yours. We recently renovated and our hotel is 100 per cent up to code on all safety items. I am really shocked at all of the issues since we were completely gutted and remodeled. I will certainly look into them and especially your housekeeping concerns. Thank you for bringing these to our attention. Sincerely, Barbara Awad DOS

The location was very good, not far from the historic district and about 30 minutes from Tybee Island going the other way. Free parking was nice! The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice besides our shower needing an upgrade. Having a mini fridge and microwave was great.
We had to ask for our room to be turned down. The room looked to be thoroughly made up after we asked but in the following days all we got was new towels. We were basically out of toilet paper by the time we checked out. When I got down to make sure no laundry got left under furniture I noticed a yogurt lid wrapper on the floor which was not from us. Breakfast was also grab and go which made it difficult if there was many people down in the breakfast area. I was disappointed because before we arrived we never were told it would be grab and go. Instead of saving money eating breakfast at the hotel we often went out to eat instead due to the limited options. Having a hot breakfast was supposed to be a perk. Front desk staff was not very friendly. Younger, gentleman was staying in the adjacent office to the front desk so it appeared as if no one was there. Did not offer directions of how to even get to our room just handed the card to me and that was it.
I did not feel like this lived up to the usual great Country Inn and Suites standards, it was just ok. Also, there was no cookies, like they usually have.

Lovely experience. Entire staff was friendly. We had a slight issue with the room AC and they fixed it immediately and came back to check on us. They made sure to keep floor from pool mopped and put a fan out to dry it. It was a wonderful stay and wonderful staff

Well there's the hotel itself and then there's the service. Technical issues caused a check in delay. I suspect it was corporate, so it's not something to blame the location for; however, the lack of communication and information during the check in process is a different story. We were told everything was "down." So there was that, but from that point on, the communication was ... absent. At some point, I got a call to come down and sign something with zero explanation. Despite three requests to link the stay to my points account, it never happened. No bill provided at check out.
The hotel itself was fine, if by fine, you want a bed to sleep in and some lamps etc. We found the bathroom to be less than standard clean. Lipstick on a pig is a good way of putting it. Rust and water stains, some of which had been poorly painted over. A lack of generaly cleanliness around the sink and in the shower was unfortunate. We found the sitting room furniture to be a step below dormitory common room furniture in terms of comfort and appeal. Some outlets were not functioning. Missing lightbulb. Bed was fine. Noise level was not optimal.
On check out, the issues were reported. The response: blank stare followed by "I can't print your receipt. It will be emailed to you." It wasn't.
Some staff training and a thorough cleaning and sprucing would make this an adequate property. But you can't do 6 brush strokes in the bathroom and call it a day.

Dear Triptip Dad, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We apologize for the concerns that you shared. Yes we are having a rust issue in the humid environment. Although we have dehumidifiers in every room, we find that they are continually being turned off by the guests due to the low level noise they cause. Our paint provider is currently working with us to help find a solution. The recommended paint is unfortunately not available at this time but we want our guests to know wee are aware and working on the issue. We will work with our all new staff on better communication. I am not sure how you booked the room but if through a third party, they give the receipt to you via email but again, this information should be communicated to you. The furniture is all chosen by corporate but we will share your input as to their choices. again, we will work with our all new HK staff as to a better and proper cleanliness and appreciate your input. Thank you for your very detailed and much appreciated review as we will make changes to the issues within our control. Sincerely, Barbara Awad DOS

The first room smelled like smoke and the second room had blood all over the place. Not sure how the cleaning lady signed off on it. So we got a refund and decided not to stay. It's also not in a nice area and 20 min from river street. Doesn't seem safe in that neighborhood. Also the pool room smelled so much like chlorine. The pool care taker doesn't know what he or she is doing and is over chlorinating the pool

we apologize for the concerns that you shared. As we are a no smoking hotel, I will definitely look into this as well as the HK report. Our pool company measures and tests the chlorine levels daily as is required. Thank you for your review.

We had our room reserved way ahead of time through the Radisson program. This hotel called our home phone (700 miles away) to see if we were going to check in because "they wanted to cancel our reservation at 9 PM so that they could book full for the night". We were visiting nearby Tybee Island for a sunset cruise so we did not arrive before 9 PM. They called our home phone again after 9 PM and told us they had cancelled our room. Fortunately for us, no one else showed up and took the room before we arrived so we were able to get into the room without them telling us what they'd done. I only found out after we arrived home and got their messages. I am very upset that they would cancel our reservation right out from underneath us just because we weren't there by a certain time. We are avid travelers and have never had this happen before. When I called the hotel just to explain my dismay I asked for the manager and the person who answered pretended to be her. She was was very rude and then she finally put the manager on who proceeded to say that because we didn't answer our home phone they were within their rights to cancel our reservation. Maybe I'm mistaken but if I reserve a room, I'm going to get billed for it even if I don't show up. I don't understand why anyone would cancel a standing reservation just so they could book full for the night?! It's not cool that they're so desperate for money that they would risk putting a family of four out of a room at 10 PM just so they could make a dollar from someone else. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Please accept my apology for your concern. In fact, we have been calling guests as a courtesy before charging for the room due to late cancellations, Covid and other factors we do not like to charge our guests if they do not stay with us. I apologize for the misunderstanding and hope that you understand that this policy was implemented as a courtesy so that a guest is not charged for not showing up or forgetting to cancel. We are not on direct bus route but the walk is about a block. We also have a working elevator.
Thanks !
Hello,
We do not have a complimentary shuttle from our hotel to the historic district. However, we have partnered with one of the local trolley companies and if you book their tour, they will pick you up at a certain time and bring you back. Please call us directly for more information.
You're a quick 10 minute ride to the 'historic/sightseeing area. Hotel has 2-3 brochures, etc regarding that subject. Suggest you stop at main tourist information center in the district. Everything is pretty much within walking distance and safe to do so. You can also find free parking on many of the streets (read the signs). Enjoy it's terrific!
