We came to Savannah June 6-10 for a little vacation. We had absolutely no problems with checking in. All the front desk staff were always very friendly to us. Unfortunately, me and my husband both came down with a yucky summer cold and didn't get to do as much as we wanted. Therefore, we stayed in our room a lot just to rest. The beds were comfortable which was a good thing. The room was clean upon arrival. We didn't want our room cleaned 3 out of the 4 days we were there. The one day we felt like going out pretty early was the day we requested housekeeping to clean our room. When we got back that night only one bed was made and the other one (MINE) had not been made. We informed the front desk about it and showed her pictures. She said it was because I had one of my little throw blankets that I travel with laying on the bed and they were not allowed to touch any personal items. I have never had that happen before and I usually have my own pillows and blanket on the bed. I just think they should have a notice on the nightstand or close by stating that you need to remove all personal items from the bed if you want it made up. Other than that, we didn't have any problems with our room. The breakfast was a typical free hotel continental breakfast. There was plenty to hold you over until lunch time. I thought the interior corridors were very pretty and I liked looking over the courtyard into the lobby. I wouldn't have any reservations about staying here again in the future. I just hope when we get to visit again we are feeling 100% so that we can enjoy the beauty of Savannah.

This is an older hotel. The outside was well taken care of, lobby, breakfast area decorated nicely, great parking. The location to everything was great; a short drive to the historic district and the river walk. The hotel was located near a grocery store and other shops. Like I said, it’s an older hotel and it could use a deep cleaning and some updates, such as new rugs, paint and wallpaper. We found our room to be neat and tidy and had no odors. The breakfast was just ok. Scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit, coffee, juices. The service at the front desk was excellent. Staff were helpful and very pleasant. The price was good, can’t complain. Due to it being an older hotel and a bit worn, I gave it a three.

We were in town recently for a festival and stayed here. The woman at the front desk brazenly fielded her personal phone calls and flooded the lobby with conversations about her personal life! She seemed completely unconcerned about the guests at the front desk, as she talked to someone about her boyfriend, where he was, how she would reach him, etc. We stood there quite shocked. How could the front desk clerk in a hotel conduct herself in such a vulgar, unprofessional manner?!

There was a different young lady at the front desk at night - she had loud and rambunctious chatter going in the lobby area as late as 11:00pm! We couldn't get to sleep! You would think they would be more mindful of the noise level, given the open design of the hotel rooms. It was very inconsiderate and disrespectful of hotel guests, especially those of us on the first floor. They were being rowdy and disruptive right outside our doors.

One thing we appreciated was that they were courteous and allowed us to wait in the lobby area for check-in time since we arrived early. We also liked the spaciousness of the rooms. However, the cleanliness could improve and the mattress we had was a bit springy and needed replacing.

I brought my Girl Scouts to stay in Savannah for 6 nights. I called ahead before booking to check on the breakfast options. They completely mislead me. There was no fruit, no sausage or bacon, and the juice was out of order every other day as was one of the waffle irons. I'm guessing they didn't want to refill the juice or clean the waffle iron. The precooked omelets in the mini fridge were disgusting and tough. They had a sign for gluten free options and when I asked the front desk lady what they were, she didn't know. The only thing I personally could eat there was a Nature Valley Granola Bar. I saw other people bringing in breakfast from restaurants.
I booked a prepaid rate to get the cheaper rate since we booked so close to traveling. When we arrived a little before check-in time, I was informed that my reservation had been cancelled that morning. How does that happen? I even called the hotel directly after booking online to confirm everything was good. She assured me that it was. They had a room afterall, so that ended up ok.
When we went looking for pool towels, no one was at the desk and they weren't by the pool. I tried to flag down the house keeping lady, but she speaks very little English. She motioned for me to pick up the phone at the front desk and call. Turns out the phone calls the front desk, where no one was working.
The first 4 nights were fine, they were week nights and less people there. All of a sudden Friday night the room rate jumps $120 and you realize how thin the walls are. We were between a couple enjoying their stay and another couple in a screaming argument into the wee hours of the night.
The location was the biggest plus. We spent a few days on Tybee Island and the rest in Savannah. It was a reasonable distance to both.
The courtyard in the middle was cute, but could use some upkeep. The room size was good and the beds were good. Regulating the temperature in our room was difficult. There was a water leak in the elevator, which also apparently has no air circulation as it was always stuffy and hot.
Overall, I will look for different accommodations next time I come to Savannah.

We were looking for lodging in Savannah that was not too pricey, did not charge for parking but was also convenient to the sites we wanted to visit. We were happy with this choice. We found the hotel to be very clean. The staff was always seen in the process of cleaning the floor in the dining area, the halls plus our room was serviced every day. The breakfast was the same each day but there was enough variety. I would choose this location again during a visit to Savannah.

Probably the friendliest front desk staff we dealt with on our trip. The hotel location was good with about a 10-15 min drive into the historic downtown area and overall the hotel was clean albeit a bit noisy at night with a late night party going on near the front desk and a loud ice machine at the other end of the hallway. Breakfast was okay and did the job and there are a couple of nearby dinner restaurants (Sweet Potatoes Kitchen and Top Crab Restaurant) that were both good in different ways. There is a small shopping mall across the street and the pool was decent. Beds & pillows were reasonably comfortable and the 2 Queen bed suite gave plenty of space for 2 couples travelling together.

My room was located near the exit and near parking which was plus for me. When others and myself come in and out the room its very loud slams. It reminded me of my dorm days. My room was also located by the washer/dryer which was loud. For the hotel to be smoke-free my room was a Smokeland just an awful smoke smell. You may asked why I didn't request for a different room is bc the convinence to the parking lot and the beds/pillows were the most comfortable I've been used in a long time.

This hotel was extremely accomodating, especially during a last minute change. The hotel was very clean and had a tropical vibe, with the healthy live green foilage that welcomes you upon entering the lobby. To top it off, the pool was sanitized and the breakfast options were of restaurant quality. The stay was memorable to say the least and we'll be back again.

Is there shuttle service to historic distric and how often at what cost?
Answer from zhillsmom
Florida85 contributions23 helpful votes
To follow up, one of the trolley companies will pick you up at the hotel and take you to their business, which is across from the welcome center. This is only if you are using their trolley service. You have to stop at the front desk and reserve a seat. It's $5 per person, but that will be applied to your trolley ticket purchase. The first pick up is between 830-9 am at the hotel. Be aware that the shuttle stops at multiple mid town hotels, so plan on 20-30 minutes total time before getting to the drop off. The very last run back to the hotel is at 4:30 pm. We found it adequate timing for us and what we wanted to see over a period of 2 days.
