We are on an extended trip throughout the US and this is one of the nicest state parks we have stayed in. We had a large pull through site with a lot of privacy and a canopy of Live Oak trees. The sites are large with a lot of space between them. The campground is very well kept and the...

Loved. Loved. Loved. This is one of the best state parks I have camped at! It is centrally located to downtown Savannah, Tybee Island, and the rest of all the cool stuff there is to explore! We camped there for almost a week, the grounds were imaculate, showers clean, and the host were friendly. There were plenty of gorgeous trails...

This is a huge park in the Georgia swamps! There are many RV and camping sites, most quite large. Very quiet, sites are well separated. The sites are primarily pull through on natural ground (not so level) with a concrete tent or party pad in the site, picnic table and camp/cook fire ring. We called the same day we needed...

This state park was an excellent place to stay. The campsites are HUGE and spacious. There was enough space between our campsite and the next campsite to park another RV, not like most campgrounds that have you packed in like sardines. All the RV campsites were drive thru. The rangers were very friendly. The state park was close enough but...

Skidaway Island is a beautiful state park in Savannah. The park rangers are helpful and friendly and the campsites are large with many of them pull-throughout. There are beautiful hiking trails for all levels of ability, and the best part of the park are the majestic oaks covered in Spanish Moss!

This park is a great place to relax after touring Savannah. It's clean, quiet and convenient to the city. The historical hiking trails are gorgeous, with a mix of oak, pine, palm and pametto and civil war history. Sites are large, private and clean. The comfort stations have laundry and camp sinks for doing dishes. Plus, there is a grocery...

We only stayed 2 nights at this campground. It rained for the entire stay so we did not see that much of the campground but what we did see was very nice. There are miles of trails in the park to walk or ride bikes. They have large wooded sites with some full hookups. The entire park is in the...

We were very pleased with the campground. Most sites are pull through and are very roomy. We were in Loop 1, Site 5. It is a huge site. We walked around all the loops in the campground several times and honestly didn't see but a few sites that we would not have been pleased with and that would only be...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located near historic Savannah, this park borders Skidaway narrows, a part of Georgia’s intracoastal waterway. Trails wind through maritime forest and past salt marsh, leading to a boardwalk and observation tower. Visitors can watch for deer, fiddler crabs, raccoon, egrets and other wildlife. Inside the park’s interpretive center, birders will find binoculars, reference books and a window where they can look for migrating species such as Painted Buntings. Children will especially enjoy seeing the towering, 20-foot Giant Ground Sloth replica and reptile room. A scenic campground is nestled under live oaks and Spanish moss, while groups can enjoy privacy in their own pioneer campgrounds. Open-air picnic shelters and an enclosed group shelter are popular spots for parties, reunions and other celebrations. ... more   less
