Savannah was such a wonderful city it is such a shame this hotel made the experience less than desirable. The only thing this hotel had going for it was the location. Breakfast was a joke. No house cleaning. Had to dump your own garbage. They refused to provide a new cord to the phone so every time you needed something it was a trip down to the front desk. This was a major safety issue. The first day they did come up and fix the cord and it worked for one call. Then it was out again. Could not get wake up calls or messages. I asked if they could swap a cord from another room and they said no. Towels had to be picked up at the front desk. Never again at this dump.
Nice ambiance upon entering lobby. The room was spacious for our family of 4 adults. Sheets on the bed were ultra soft. Great to have a mini kitchen. Negatives: the breakfast was kinda lame. Our room was constantly moist. Our clothes, pillows and bedding were damp. I think maybe the air filter for the a/c needed to be changed??
Housed in a historic build this hotel is very unique. Lobby very modern with a bar. Unfortunately it was only open 1 night out of 3 due to staffing. Room is spacious as they are suites but could use an upgrade> Bathroom is very small. Biggest disappointment was the food selection for breakfast. Glad hot food was ordered but no oatmeal, muffins, fruit. Toaster only had 1 side working. Staff was friendly. On-site parking is a plus but fills up fast. Parking garage is next door and can be used when the lot is full
In normal times, cleanliness and hygiene in a hotel is essential. During a pandemic, cleaning is a matter of health. Bathrooms with hair from previous guests on all sides. Toilet that had clearly been used “after being cleaned”. The bathtub was even slippery, obviously for lack of a good cleaning with an anti-bacterial quality product. The tables that were available for breakfast were sticky and oily, showing how dirty they were. For 3 days I didn't see a single person cleaning these tables other than the guests themselves with their own antibacterial wipes. A breakfast with very few options and if you wanted to get a juice, wake up early, because after 8:30am there is almost no replenishment. I felt upset to see a parent with their two children cleaning the floor when one of them dropped his glass of milk. Other guests and mobilized to help because there was no cleaning staff that could do. The embarrassment of that family was clear, as there was not even a paper towel available for the guests to do a good cleaning. If you decide to stay here, ask for a room that has the most modern fridge, even if you won't need it, because if you stay in one of the rooms that keep the older fridges, you'll need medicine or drinks to sleep because the The noise of the refrigerator engine plus the noise of the air conditioner will turn your night into a terrible nightmare. Unfortunately this was our experience after 16 months without making a trip.…
Staybridge Suites is a first class, pet friendly hotel. Staff is friendly and efficient. Room 111 is clean and comfortable. It is also haunted. Experienced several unexplained events, some of which put our dog on high alert. Nothing too creepy. Just enough to let us know we weren't the only guests in the room. Added to the fun of Savannah. I will stay in Staybridge again. I will request room 111.
