We stayed here for one night and everything was perfect. The staff was very personable and friendly. They welcomed us with sincere smiles and conversation. We were able to check-in 2 hours early, our room was clean with all the amenities, large tv with plenty of channels, a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee pot, a fully stocked bathroom, and VERY comfortable beds. The walls are well insulated, as there was no noise heard during the night. The hotel has a parking garage right across the street for $15/day. It is centrally located between River Street and Forsyth Park. We will definitely stay here again and recommend TRYP to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Savannah.

Stayed for 2 nights here. I have always wanted to visit Savannah and made it to Atlanta only until now.

It's about a 13.5 hour drive from MI, without traffic.

There's a parking garage across the street from the resort. It's about $14/day during the week days and $5 flat rate for the weekends. They offer valet parking at the resort, but they charge $30 per day.

The room is on the 3rd floor, lots of loud outside noise from the road noise on the other side of the hotel.

The gym is closed during the pandemic and they suspended all house keeping as well, except at checkout.

It has a lot of great billowy seats smattered here and there that scream at you to put up your feet for spell. It's clean, modern and sleek as far as decor.

I recommend a room away from the elevators, not like ours, which is the first door, closest to elevator. At times folks ambling by too slowly get way too loud and chatty whilewaiting for their elevator to arrive or getting to their rooms.

Service was good as was our stay.

This place is in a great location. We arrived a bit early, while our room was not ready, they did take our mobile number and then contacted us in less than an hour that it was ready.
We had a deluxe king room, which was nice, as it is at the end of the hall with 2 walls of floor to ceiling windows. Being at the end of the hall makes it nice and quiet. And the room has a great deal of extra space.
Everything was nice and clean and space to spread out, with a mini fridge to pack away perishables. We got a great night sleep.
Take advantage of parking your own car in the garage directly across the street and save some cash.
The location of the hotel makes it easy to walk to anywhere in the historic area.

We came from out of state and arrived about 20 mins before check in time. The room was not ready but they said they would call when it was. We waited in the lobby for over an hour and when we went back up to the desk, it was as though we were an inconvenience to them. It was obvious they never had our room ready or gave it to someone else because they were scrambling to find a room for us.
We asked for an upper floor, quiet room. They put us on a bottom floor corner room with the highway traffic and foot traffic right outside the window.
The room was not clean. Rug was old, and discolored. Not vaccuumed, there were food wrappers on the floor by the bed from the previous guest.
Called housekeeping for an extra pillow. 3 hrs later had to call again, and wait another hour before we finally got one. No do not disturb sign, had to call for one.
The air conditioner was extremely loud, made it difficult to sleep between the noise from that, the traffic, and people walking by the window.
We did not use their parking for $30 a day. We parked in the parking garage facing the hotel and it cost us $16 total for 3 days. HUGE SAVINGS.
The positive was the bed was comfortable and the location was convenient.
All in all we will not book at this location again. We expected more from a Wyndham hotel.

Let me start off by saying this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in during my 68 years of life and I have traveled all over the world. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE. All the negative reviews are 100% correct.. We arrived and checked in. The front desk clerk seemed nice and we had the car parked across the street for us. Everything was downhill from there. There was no soap in the room so we called downstairs and the desk clerk said he would run some up which he did. My wife went to make some coffee and there was none so I called downstairs and the clerk ran some up. My wife went to take a shower and the shower valve almost come off in her hand and you guessed it no hot water. Called downstairs and the Clerk came up and he had no covid mask on and said he left it at the desk and would I like him to retrieve it. He came back up and checked the shower and said "I guess your right no hot water im going to move you to another room". I asked him if he could please check the room to make sure it was clean, had soap and coffee. He agreed and we moved. When we got to the new room we found the following: smelled of smoke, no soap, no coffee, the tub was dirty and there were food crumbs in the drawer in the nite stand between the beds. The wallpaper was falling off the wall, and the pillows on the bed were half the size of a std pillow.I called down stairs and I asked him to bring everything upstairs that was missing and said I thought we agreed you were going to make sure that everything was fine int he room before we moved? His reply, I thought it would be and he hung up on me. I had my wife deal with him and everything else from that point on. I felt at this point if I got involved anymore it would have gotten ugly. Again and for the third time do not stay here until Mgmt fixes this place. Also I forgot to mention the desk clerk is the clerk, the valet at times, housekeeping, plumbing and whatever else you might need. He leaves a sign on the front desk that reads thank you for your patience while I am away helping another guest and the front desk
is unoccupied until he returns.

My initial thoughts of the Tryp by Wyndham in Savannah were great. The refurbished hotel is very stylish and modern. The staff , particularly Ciara, General Manager, and Valet were friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean. It's a great location in that it is just about a 10-15 minute moderate walk to the riverfront area, other historic sights, restaurants and bars. The restaurant closed at the beginning of the pandemic and has not reopened. The hotel provides a continental breakfast consisting of apples, bagels, cream cheese and coffee.

Because of the staffing shortage, they require that you request that your room be cleaned if you are staying more than one night. Unfortunately, we weren't told that and did not have our room cleaned while we were there. We had to ask three times for additional towels for our room. Additionally, the refrigerator in the room was not operable. The bed was extremely worn and uncomfortable and the the pillows were dense and inexpensive. Bottom line, I'd certainly ask about the cleaning, bed and pillows before staying there again.

I'm in Savannah frequently on business luckily. I really enjoy the city as it's very walk-able, has many great restaurants and lots of historical sites. There are also dozens of hotels to choose from. I had walked by this location several times and the lobby and restaurant looking inviting so on my last trip I decided to try it. I was not impressed. I thought Tryp was supposed to a more upscale concept for Wyndam. Turns out it's not up to par with a Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn. The rooms are very small and the hallways are depressing.....very narrow with stark white walls with carpets that were not vacuumed daily. Looks more like an old dormitory. The parking arrangements are screwy and the restaurant and bar were only open on the weekends. For the money there are many better options in the area.

I asked if we could check in early at 2:00. Woman at the front desk with earbuds in said we could with a $35 additional fee. Most hotels won't charge if you're a little early but I paid the fee regardless.

The oddest thing happened next. I placed my credit card and drivers license on the counter in front of her like I do at every hotel I have ever stayed at. Usually the front desk agent appreciates that I am prepared. After about 30 seconds she gives me an eyeroll and sarcastically says to me "I need your license and credit card." I replied "Oh they are right there on the counter." and I pointed at them. Then she just waited and looked at me for 30 seconds. I had not idea what was happening - so awkward. Finally I say "Do you need me to hand them to you?" She rolled her eyes at me and said "Yes". It was bizarre and left me perplexed days later.

In covid times I thought it would be preferrable to not hand ID's to avoid physical contact, but all she had to do was ask and I gladly would have handed them over with a smile.

Other than this bizarre experience.... Room and Lobby were nice. Hallways are in need of work but no big deal. Location is a little far from the Historic District, you can walk there if you are up for a little exercise.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The only friendly staff are the valet workers. The front desk staff don't make eye contact and look like they are afraid you will ask for something. They DONT CLEAN THE ROOMS.
When we arrived, I found a dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door. The rug had crumbs, it was clearly not vacuumed. They provided only one towel, hand towel, and face cloth. We had a hard time getting more. You had to place your trash outside the door and search for replacement trash liners.
The kitchen/restaurant is closed and each day coffee was different. One day there was free coffee, another it was $3 a cup, you would think that if there was no restaurant they could at least give you a free cup of coffee.
It was not a comfortable stay and we checked out a day early. We would have checked out earlier but we have scheduled things to do.

We booked this trip at the last minute and hotel choice was limited. We booked the Tryp in Savannah despite the negative reviews. We though “how bad could it be, it’s a Wyndham property.”

Well, every negative review was spot on. This hotel is, by far, one of the worst-run hotels I have ever stayed in. The property itself has potential - nice lobby and lobby bar, ok location, spacious rooms, trendy decor. But the staff leave a lot to be desired. The sign in the elevator asked for patience because “housekeeping is limited.” Translation: limited to cleaning rooms upon checkout. Not knowing this, after no service after the first night, we asked for service and on days 2 and 3, the front desk staff said it was possible, but no cleaning staff showed up. We stayed 5 nights and had to beg for housekeeping on day 4. Then we were told that there is no housekeeping for guests and the rooms are only cleaned upon checkout. The front desk clerk only acquiesced because my husband was getting angry. Every other day we had to stop by the front desk to ask for fresh towels, our two paper coffee cups and our ration of coffee pods (3 for two people in the room.)

The hotel needs a strong manager who can make better hiring decisions and on-site supervisors who can keep the staff working.

If you’ve read the negative reviews, believe every one of them and choose another hotel.
