The Richard Johnston Inn rates high with me for some very basic reasons: cleanliness, comfort and charm! Sometimes historical inns furnished with period décor can seem crowded and not particularly clean. Not true here. This inn is lovingly cared for with attention to detail. The living room had comfortable furniture with many topical magazines for perusing and so inviting. But...

The kicker first; you are in the center of the city, with a parking lot. This is a restored 1777 building. The rooms have character, are fully modernized and are very comfortable. The staff is wonderful. The breakfast was excellent and one of the best. A friend compared the dining room to the English mansion B&Bs. Each room has Paul...

Our whole stay was delightful. We phoned ahead to say we were stuck in traffic and they waited to greet us and ensure we had everything we wanted. We stayed in the kitchen room which had everything you could want. In the main house there are snacks, drinks etc my only concern is there was too much chocolate and it would have...

We decided to stop and explore Fredericksburg on our way home after the winter. Read about it on line and decided it was a perfect location. It is a B & B in a historic house in the heart of the city. As soon as we arrived we felt like family. The room was picturesque and comfortable. The breakfast was...

About nine rooms in brick home over 150 years old. Renovated multiple times, bit retains layout, wood floors, fireplaces, and narrow stairs. If you have trouble with tall narrow stairs, there are three ground floor rooms--former slave quarters. Lot of nice details: beatiful robes, decanter of brandy in room, small box of chocolates, nice toiletries, antique furnishings. Bed was so...

We had a wonderful stay at this Bed and Breakfast this weekend. We had a snag at check in, but sorted it out. Those things happen:( Otherwise, Cindy and Cheryl were very sweet. The building is beautiful and they offer great little personal touches in the guest rooms, such as filtered water, brandy, and even little chocolates in a small...

A larger group of us stayed there Saturday night after a bridal shower. The ladies there were hospitable and kind. They have really thought of everything there. Decanters of whisky and water in every room. They parlor is very comfortable and cozy where we all gathered with our wine. Thank you again to all the staff for our amazing stay....

After a long drive from upstate NY through Washington D.C. traffic, my husband and I arrived late afternoon and were warmly greeted by Cheryl, the innkeeper. She gave us some suggestions for dinner and showed us to our room. I had read some reviews about street noise since the Inn is on a main street, so we really enjoyed our...

A beautiful, historic home in downtown Fredericksburg. Our room was lovely though it looks as though the bathroom could use a paint touch up as something may have been splashed on the walls? Regardless, it was comfortable and very clean otherwise. Breakfast was plentiful--an omelette, meat (or in my case, vegetarian "meat" they kindly prepared to accommodate my diet) and...
