What a delight! I spent two nights here while visiting family. The room was cozy, the bed was comfy, and I could choose to watch everything going on outside from my fourth floor room, or I could lower the blackout shade and unwind. The staff was terrific, accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended!

The Even hotel has a lot going for it , but it also is lacking in some areas. The location is good, check in was easy and the hotel prides itself on its holistic atmosphere. I just needed a place to stay near my daughter so I did not use the gym or the equipment in the room which would be a novelty for anyone who wants to partake. The average price for a room is quite fair, although on the weekends it tends to get pricey ( more than i prefer to pay ) for this type of hotel. It has the feel of a hostel since the lounge and dining room are all in one area.and it was quite lively. I had dinner, a great salad and was served by a charming wait person names Learie J. There is also a separate area where you can get fresh squeezed orange juice , coffee , tea and purchase some nice snacks, if you want to take away. My biggest complaint had to do with the room....the bed was comfortable , shower area fine, but the window covering was so inadequate as to let it all the light from outside. I always bring a sleep mask with me , so i used it. I would say, if you want a decent hotel and can get a room for under $150.00 a night the Even is a perfectly fine place to stay.

Wife and I stayed at the Even Hotel because it was nearest to the Barclays Center. We easily walked there within 5-7 mins to see the Celine Dion concert. Hotel staff were very friendly, rooms were medium size but clean and comfortable. The aesthetics of the hotel and rooms were nice simple, clean with nice open spaces for guests. They have a nice gym and even have some light equipment in the hotel rooms too. Beds and pillows were extremely comfy. Valet parking was $60 bucks which wasn’t a huge headache because we only stayed one night - plus we didn’t have to go looking for parking.
If you’re going to stay longer than you’ll need to find another solution or it’s going to cost a bundle. The one drawback for us was although they have a bar, they don’t sell cocktails. Only wine, tea and other non-alcoholic drinks. Bartender was nice and told us that they couldn’t sell because of the Hindu Temple adjacent to the hotel.
We decided to walk across the street into the Holiday Inn’s restaurant plus full bar. The welcomed us and we throughly enjoyed the cocktails and appetizers. We definitely would recommend the Even hotel however if you want to enjoy a cocktail, well you’ll have cross the street. 😃

I've stayed in multiple EVEN hotels and always found them comfortable and clean, with thoughtful details that make being on the road easier. This was not the case at the Brooklyn hotel. The rooms are too tiny to take advantage of the in-room fitness zone, which was the main reason we booked at EVEN. Additionally, they did not have any space in front of the hotel to unload our car, and the luggage carts they used were the kind with the handle brakes that are impossible to maneuver through the entrance, which does not have automatic doors. Those who live in New York know that you don't have more than a minute or two to stop traffic to unload a car, so the lack of assistance or setup was frustrating.
Additionally, the parking arrangement with the Holiday Inn across the street was confusing. We got sent between the two hotels twice before figuring out the process for parking our car with the Holiday Inn. Not a good start to our stay. The king bed room was also only stocked for one person – one towel, one coffee, etc. We had to keep calling the front desk for a second of each thing since we were traveling as a couple.

The EVEN hotel has a great staff, clean and is located by great restaurants, the Barclay Center, Atlantic Terminal Mall Plaza and so much more. Derek at the front desk helped me find the nearest Katz's restaurant location to purchase their famous pastrami sandwich. My room was clean and there are plugs everywhere for all your devices. No need to bring your own shower gel when staying at this hotel they have full-size bottles available for you. The gym in the hotel had 2 Peloton bikes along with all the equipment you need to stay in shape while away from home.

Following the worst Lyft ride of my life - and a flight that left me sitting on the runway for half an hour in the snow - I arrived at Even Brooklyn ready for a great, long weekend. The hotel didn't disappoint! I had a King room on the 9th floor, with the city view I craved. I don't think there's a better location in the borough; at Even you're within walking distance to the Market Hall with dozens of restaurant stalls, as well as mainstays like Junior's. The prices are reasonable, especially if you can catch a special like I did. As always, though, what I want most in a hotel is a wonderful staff. The staff at Even is tops in every way! The star employee on this stay was Tiffany - after hearing of my awful morning she sent up a bag of little treats that really brightened my day. That's the kind of thoughtful interaction that makes a hotel stand out. It's also why I will stay at Even on my next stay in Brooklyn. Thanks Tiffany, and thanks to the entire staff for making my stay special.

The location is okay, it’s right by the Barclay Center, BAM theatre and a few minutes from the Downtown Brooklyn Macy’s and a 15-min drive to Park Slope. There is only one elevator working so it can be a long wait to get to your room. We stayed on the 4th floor and it reeked of marijuana. Pro’s: Our room (428) thankfully was very quiet, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was soothing with good soap and shampoo.

We visited New York in Dec for Xmas with our 2 young children and stayed for 7 nights at Even Hotel. Staff were friendly and would always offer local knowledge of the area. Check in and out was quick and easy and no hidden costs. Breakfast was not included in our stay so cannot comment on that but just around the corner we found a shop called Metro Feast and they offer buffet lunch and lots of things to eat for breakfast too.
The room was clean and modern with all the amenities you would expect including a Smart TV. The room was equipped with exercise equipment too which you can use for morning cardio. There's a channel on the TV that shows you workouts which was very cool and different. It's a city hotel so rooms were not huge but that's to be expected. Still we had 2 double beds so enough room to sleep. There's no bath only shower which can be a struggle with young children.
Housekeeping were spot on with their service as room was always serviced nicely.
Location is fab. Everything you need is nearby including subway stations taking you into Times Square in less than 30 mins. There are lots of malls within walking distance too and lots of food shops. The iconic barclay centre is also within walking distance.
Highly recommend this hotel and thank you to all staff at Even hotel for an enjoyable stay.

EVEN hotel prides itself as a healthy and wellness oriented hotel. Given the current COVID environment we decided to book a room at the EVEN in Brooklyn. it was probably the dirtiest hotel lobby that I have seen in a long time. Given that first exposure experience, we immediately canceled out reservation and made one at another hotel. I would suggest that this hotel keep more well trained staff at the front desk and probably spend some more money on cleaning services, if they want traveler confidence to return. We returned to NY after many months and it was not a very good experience.

I booked here on the second leg of my Northeast trip before heading to Philadelphia with my father for his conference. I booked at EVEN primarily because of price relative to staying in Manhattan for the days of stay and for the location.
The location is absolutely unbeatable for the New York City area aside from Manhattan; it's located within reasonable walking distance to five subway stations (DeKalb, Nevins, Hoyt, Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and Atlantic) all of which service distinct lines and provide easy access into basically all of Manhattan and the Bronx and the hotel is also centrally located in Brooklyn as well. The only real negative is that there's no real way to get into a large portion of Queens.
The first room we were provided with had electronically controlled blinds and the track that controlled the blackout curtains was broken, however the maintenance engineer, Diego, was extremely open about the issue and friendly with it. Additionally, Monique, at the front desk, was extremely helpful with the entire situation and we eventually got another room with a functioning blackout curtain (although it was manual). We were also offered free breakfast for the duration of our stay and a choice of staying in the original room (we would have to get Diego to come manually adjust the blinds) or we could move to a new room, we chose the latter option.
The room is where the experience began to fall. Firstly, the new room we got was comparatively small and was overall not large even for New York City standards as the bed nearest the window was pushed up and in contact with the wall.
However, the size wasn't the only issue with the room. Firstly, the rooms overall did not really meet, as far as decor and the quality of linens and other aspects, the specifications of a 4 star hotel. The room also had several cleanliness and overarching issues. Part of the flooring was made out of what I believe was cork; whatever the material, it was not very resistant to scratching and marks. The window shade looked fairly dirty and the blackout curtain didn't really extend to the floor which let in a fair amount of light. A part of the sheets on one of the beds had a light brown staining that I suspected was blood, but I didn't look too much into it. The bathroom was, similar to the room itself, small in comparison to the first room.
The breakfast in the morning, which we chose to take advantage of, was pretty solid both times. The serving portion is a bit on the small side but the server (I can't remember his name) was extremely welcoming and friendly. Internet was solid, no complaints there.
In all honesty, if the service wasn't so great, I probably would've ranked this nearer to 2 bubbles, because the room was questionable in general, but the service was good enough to where it singlehandedly raises the overall ranking.

not really. it's pretty modern, has a yoga mat and exercise equipment in the room and a stand up mini desk, plus a small lounge/self serving food market that's convenient in the lobby but I wouldn't say it has a resort feel.
There are more places to choose from in the Brooklyn area.
