It's October 26 and somehow the heat isn't on until tomorrow. There's electricity, though on just one side of the room. They did give me an extra blanket. You'll have to excuse me as my fingers are too cold to type on my almost out of battery phone.

Dear Chris B We sincerely apologize for the issues that prevented us from providing heat during your stay. All systems are now in order. During our tests earlier this month, there were mechanical issues that required parts that were not readily available. I assure you that we did our best (at significant expense) to expedite their delivery. NU Hotel has... More

This hotel should be fine to spend the night in—if the heat works. I was in an upgraded room, which was pretty spacious for New York. It had engineered wood floors, which is a nice change from ubiquitous hotel carpeting, and lots of light for a hotel. It seems like it was recently renovated, but the renovation was pretty superficial.... More

Our stay at NU was great. We were there for 2 nights (myself, my Mom and my Aunt) as a sort of layover from a driving trip from Indiana for their sailing to England on the Queen Mary II. The trip to the Brooklyn Pier was less than 15 minutes so that was great. When we arrived at NU, we... More

Thanks for the 5 star review! We're pleased that you found our property to be ideal for the Brooklyn Pier and Queen Mary 2. I'm sorry our staffs mistake with your extra terry request. I stayed here for one night on route back to the UK. Close to the Metro for Manhatten and also some cheap places to eat in Brooklyn. Different style hotel rooms, but very appealing. Very helpful staff not just at reception for the booking in/out process but also for places to eat, getting a cab etc. Nice gym too which... More

Friendly staff, great rooms, good location ... easy walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge and good neighborhood restaurants. We got into town early and they were able to accommodate us. Will definitely stay there again.

I was skeptical of this hotel for its aesthetic (bright colors, confusing/modern lobby design, and obvious exploitation of Brooklyn culture) and its location (not the most interesting block in the neighborhood as well as being across the street from the Brooklyn jail). My wife and I recently moved out of Brooklyn and ended up here when she went into labor... More

I would love to say positive things about this hotel, but due to their horrible customer service, they made it impossible!
