Room is nice and clean. Housekeeping staff friendly. However, if you want to watch TV or call the front desk from your room, forgetaboutit! Wi-Fi is spotty at best. Television was out the three days were were there (another visitor said it was already out at least three days before that! ) Tried to call the front desk from the room phone and it was out as well. WiFi is a crap shoot. Maybe it’s available. Maybe it’s not. Sad…and there were quite a few flies darting around in the lobby. Strange.
Great Hotel especially due to Robby at the reception, so kind, helpfull :) also the view from the hotel is amazing! There are great restaurants close by (Sapp, Tacombi etc) also the bar was great to have a glass of wine. Its a cute calm area, close to Queens borrow plata station
The bed is big and the room is clean. After that it's actually a disaster. The walls are paper thin. The TVs and telephones do not work. The food area is so depressing. There's construction happening between 2-8am on the rooftop (or nearby). The city should do this place a kindness and shut it down.
Hotel was fine, could use some refreshing but overall good and comfortable for a 5 night stay. Hotel room is on the large side for NYC - would be small elsewhere but iykyk. Very convenient to transit and lots nearby to walk too. Some fairly constant door slamming could be heard but the white noise provided by the ancient air conditioner helped to drown that out. Very friendly staff. Coffee in the lobby in the morning and popcorn some evenings were nice treats.
They were so rude and unfriendly under the check in, and even somebody else paid for my room they have now taken 12 00 dollars from my credit card. A card I now have to blocked because of this terrible hotel. I have no information of why they have taken money from me - since the room was prepaid. But I consider this a fraud and will warn everyone else. Stay away from this hotel and the rude people working there. They will take all of your money if you give them your card.
Quite a small space to stay. I could hear the people next-door talking and slamming their doors. Stayover cleaning was wonderful. I asked the housekeeper if there’s a laundry facility she said “yes just fill up the paper and bring it to frondesk” but when we called the frontdesk they said the hotel don’t do laundry. I think the front and the housekeeping should communicate. The TV is kinda old and not working really well i think because of the signal we stayed for 5 nights and the couldn’t fix it. Bathroom was great! But there were flies all over i dont know where it came from.
We have stayed here several times because of its location although it offers few amenities. This time, there was no telephone in the room, the clock did not work, and the television only received the Russian channel. When I brought these issues to the attention of the desk the next afternoon, nothing was done. Leaving for dinner in the evening, I again brought the issues to the desk clerk. He smiled. Nothing was done. I was going to give the hotel two stars, but then I remembered that there was left-over cake in the refrigerator when we arrived and no regular coffee packets were in our room the second day. The explanation for the absence of the phone was that they were doing something with the phones. I asked why I was given a room with no phone, a very dangerous situation. No excuse was given. When I was checking out, no excuse was given for not having done anything about the absence of a clock, a phone, or a television that received more than one channel.…
The location was good and easy enough to get back and forth for all the pre and post race obligations and events. However, management was hard to track down and communicate with and the manager I finally spoke with was incredibly condescending over an issue that could’ve been dealt with quickly and kindly (a basic skill for a customer-service industry professional to hone). For that and no other reason, I’d never stay at any Aloft hotel again. If we hadn’t needed to speak with management to understand certain billing practices that were not obvious or explained correctly, this would’ve been a great stay, but you don’t know when you’re going into a trip if it’ll go off without a hitch or if you’ll encounter hiccups, and their ineptitude and rudeness in this area motivated me to actually write and submit this review.…
Hotel has a modern look. Great location with lots of convenient stuff in a 1-2 block radius. Easy access to subway to get to Manhattan. On the other hand, hotel needs some in-rom work. Two televisions but were ancient and one of them didn't work. Neither had a program guide and seemed to have different channels. I couldn't watch anything in the bedroom area. Fitness room was least equipped I've seen in a Marriott property. Just some treadmills and bikes and some ketterball weights.
Barely 2/5: Room was clean and bigger than expected, bathroom was nice with a big shower… nicely located ( close to subway ) but the positive points stop there.. Our room was a joint room ( with stranger being next door) ..so we basically had to hear/smell everything coming from the other room. Zero soundproofing, we could hear doors slamming in the hallway. We complaint to the front desk ( we had to get down there at 11pm because the phone in the room was not working)…and nothing was done. I also understand that they might be renovating but the lobby area was kinda sad. The xyz bar was closed. We were not informed prior to our arrival that most services were closed or not offered. I do not recommend this place. Will not be coming back.
