I didn't like a single thing about this booking, including Booking.com. How could you trouble people like this who are travelling with family to unnkown places? First of all I chose this hotel in Brooklyn because I had to catch a early morning shuttle for a upcoming tour which was supposed to leave 7am next day. And this hotel was... More

First, we were surprised by the neighborhood. This Inn is in a very run down are of Brooklyn. There are no restaurants that one would feel comfortable eating in. We felt uncomfortable walking through the neighborhood. One of the neighboring houses was boarded up. Inside our room the bathroom was an absolute disgrace. Dirty cheaply paneled walls, the toilet flushed... More

I stayed here years ago but this time was a nightmare. A bent, used Acupuncture needle was sticking out of the filthy area rug. Dr Burton never apologized but stated he was not liable because we didn't step on the needle. If we did, he stated he would provide us with a tetanus shot. There were two incredibly uncomfortable padded... More

The door code did not work for me and no one answered the phone or email. I ended up having to make other arrangements. I contacted them multiple times since for a refund and still haven't heard back.

There is a really bad door code system that you need to enter 4 times to get to your room. We got stock outside in the middle of the night with the kids for 2 hours. Very unpleasent and stressful situation. Nobody was present at the reception to talk to and the number to reach someone was always busy. They... More

Great location to the metro and a quiet street for Brooklyn. The office is run on a dentist hours so you better keep an eye out on your in- box and don't expect a reply to happen after hour. Remember dentist hours. The code is tricking on both doors but it's a very secure place. The interior is rather funking... More

Location is good for accessing the Metro, dodgy when coming back at night. Nostrand station grubby and very crowded. Wouldn't bring my daughter. Accessing the door code very tricky as the number code sent by email (did not receive) and being from down under in the air when it would have reached my inbox. Office run from a dentist's practice... More

I stayed in The Missing Lantern in September of 2015 during a weeklong trip to New York. Overall it was a very good stay, well priced, well sized, well maintained, and a true Brooklyn experience nonetheless. I'd definitely advise people to stay here especially if they want to experience Brooklyn through a Brownstone or in an Authentic Caribbean section of... More

My boyfriend and I, Irish and Canadian, travelling from Toronto chose the Missing Lantern for our 4-night stay in June. We were attending the Mumford & Sons show, it was his first time in Brooklyn and my third time. Because I was /already/ comfortable with the neighborhoods and transit systems I felt the Missing Lantern was a good fit for... More

Could not have been more opposite than what was expected or anticipated. We arrived mid afternoon, the roads were reasonably quiet but we found there shady looking people on street corners as we drove up Deane St to our "suites" which did not give the impression of a family safe neighborhood, different from other reports I had read. The journey... More
