We came to watch our daughter graduate from Pratt and stayed at the Missing Lantern. For us, the location was perfect.. we could walk to a lot of places and there was also easy access to the subway and buses. The block is quiet and close to active streets, so felt very safe, or at least no different from any...

Very true about the old wood and stain glass decor. It is a surprise walking into the Room #4. I'm just not too sure if I'm happy over the pleasant charm of the room or unhappy over the musty smell of the room. For travelers who wants to see Manhattan, this is a bit out and yes location is also...

We had a really comfortable stay. Cosy old world Brownstone building. Felt safe inside. As we drove in the cab from the airport, arriving after dark, I did feel that we were entering a very sketchy neighborhood. The street the Lantern is on however is pretty nice. A few hipsters and their dogs! We did find a great cajun restaurant...

We booked this almost Bed and Breakfast, ( no breakfast) because it was near where we were visiting in Brooklyn. We stayed in Room #4 , which was such a wonderful surprise, all the old wood, stain glass, and hand painted screens. The room had everything you needed, including kitchen (with coffee) and a double shower. I have read the...

We stayed in the " leadlight studio" for 5 nights, and we had a wonderful time! The neighbourhood was a bit edgy, but a real experience for us older Aussies. We found the walks around the area to some fabulous little local eateries, really interesting and enjoyable. We chatted to folk sitting on their "stoops" and at times it felt...

We saw 4 or 5 small cockroaches when we arrived. When you see 4 or 5, there are 100s you don't see. It was a quaint little home converted into a B&B without the second B. There is only customer service until 5 PM. The owners seem to try to keep the place nice, but it's in a terrible neighborhood,...

STAY AWAY!!! We had 2 nights booked for a weekend to visit family. Our walk from the subway to the guest house had us closely guarding our valuables in this questionable neighborhood. As soon as we stepped in the hallway, we were hit with the smell of a cross between moth balls and comet cleanser. We decided to book a...

My husband and I stayed in two different rooms at the ML and loved both! The rooms were clean and tidy with thoughtful decor and everything you could need. Since each room had a kitchen area we were able to store and prepare food as necessary. The living spaces were comfy and the beds were comfortable as well. Not having...

My husband and I stayed at The Missing Lantern in Suite #4 last week. We were there for 8 days. It was exactly what we had expected. I had called the office 1 week prior just as requested on the reservation. They had told us that no one would be there upon our arrival since it was after hours so...
