best hotel check-in experience I've ever had. First of all, gorgeous building with street art, huge open windows, and nice wood finishes in the space. Secondly, Marcus - one of the friendliest NYC-ers I have ever met. He not only helped me with all of my concerns, he cooly communicated the awesome amenities of the space (real coffee, free til 11p?! TED-style talk tonight in the space at 7p on Crypto-currency AND Real Estate?). Then, the room! I LOVE the industrial style: not 80's bulky furniture noone ever uses taking up the room. Clean, functional, beautiful. I will say, the quality of some of the finishes in the space are displays of poor craftsmanship (when not purposefully antiqued which is fine love that in old NYC), and while the Environmentalists in me LOVES the less waste of the shampoo/conditioner combo, i do wish separate shampoo and conditioner were available. Besides that, definitely see myself staying here whenever I visit the area.…
I just wanted to thank Asia Brewington for very acceptable service and a superb room. we stayed a night at the Red Lion Hotel in Brooklyn NY, and, was very impressed and satisfied with the room and service. The room was clean and very accommodating. The service was on point and the breakfast and service was great. And would recommend it to anyone else.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but this is not a hotel. At all. I booked it through Agoda.com and I got there and it was some sort of shelter. The people who worked there just told me there was a hotel "down the street". But I booked a hotel at this adress. After my second call to agoda I was able to get the promise of a new room. I've now been sitting in a Starbucks for two hours waiting for that promise to come to fruition. So again this is not a hotel, so how was I able to book it?
Long Island City is the last bastion of affordable hotels in New York City and the Red Lion Inn is a very good option. It's only half a block from the Queensboro Plaza subway. The rooms are clean and well-maintained and the check-in staff were courteous. I would return.
We also got taken to this property by the taxi driver by accident - make sure you tell your taxi driver that it is "Hotel RL Brooklyn" on 1080 Broadway, NOT "Red Lion Inn & Suites Brooklyn"!!! As our taxi came to the parking area entrance at about 7pm, we felt something uneasy about the area as a few men wearing baggy clothes were lurking about the area. As we unloaded our baggage the entrance is had airport-style metal detectors and the reception guy telling me to check with my taxi driver whether I am in the right place or not. As we realised this is not the right place, I reloaded my baggage and told the driver to take me to 1080 Broadway! it appears to be a common mistake to be taken to this "establishment" so remember...........1080 Broadway is the nice property, not this place! Note, this place doesn't even warrant a single star rating!…
We ended up here by accident. We had reservations at the other Red Lion property, which is very nice. Our taxi brought us to the Butler property and two men met us outside, telling us we couldn’t stay there and it was out of commission. It seemed like a homeless shelter and later I found out it was.
I cannot day enough good things about our stay at this hotel. Hotel staff were incredible and accommodating. Room was extremely clean. Extremely! Bathroom was awesommmmmme! Many many plug outlets which allow for adequate charging of all devices. Lots of TV channels. Quiet which allows for a restful sleep. Only downside is that there was really no stores within walking distance at night. Overall, a better hotel than one I ever stayed in, in Manhattan. We will def be staying here again when we return.
First of all, I would like to thank the receptionist for trying her best at solving the problem caused by your company. Recently I came to check in and was greeted with an error in your reservation system. Through an unforeseen series of event we found out that our reservation which would last from the 27th to the 30th of May would be interrupted due to the hotel being reserved entirely on the 29th. The purpose of reservations is eliminating the stress of looking for free rooms and this kind of event is unacceptable. I appreciate the quick solving provided by the receptionist at such a late hour but this should not have happened in the first place. Cleaning services have stopped after the first day and as a result the trash stacked into a pile the size of the desk. The breakfast was a mess. The drink dispenser had mixed all its contents i to a diluted dew. Besides that, the food was of poor quality. To top it all the elevator had broken just when we needed it so we had to carry a ton of luggage up and down the stairs between the lovby and the 6th floor. I would’ve given a 2 star review but the internet is awful so I’ll stick to one.…
We stayed here one night while visiting my sister. I was initially concerned because of some of the negative reviews here, but everything was excellent. We did not have any problems. The room is on the small side, but it is NY, so that is what I expected. The a/c kept the room cool and it was very quiet. There was minimal street noise during the day. We were also on the 5th floor, so that probably also helped. The bed was very comfortable and there were ample pillows. It was also nice that there was a mini fridge in the room. The room and hotel were very clean and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. I had the park and stay special, and I had no problems parking right out front. The neighborhood seems to be undergoing some revitalization and there was some construction, but we always felt safe and walked around several times without concern. There wasn't a coffee pot in the room, which wasn't a big deal since there was coffee on the first floor area. We didn't eat breakfast there, but it was offered. Overall, I would stay there again anytime and would highly recommend it.…
Lobby and common areas were not clean. Breakfast area too small and crowded. Even after taking the time to call and clarify the “Park and stay” package I was still charged for parking after the selecting that package.
