Lots of downside, probably wouldn't return We stayed here for one night for a concert in Brooklyn. I'm not sure I'd return. We've stayed in other hotels in the area that are far better, but we were trying to save money here. Pros -- Rooms are really quiet. Could not hear neighbors from within the room, but out in the hall they were very loud, so there's some good soundproofing. -- Valet parking is really convenient. It's in the same building and you text the valet when you need your car and come and go as you want. --Good location for subway and breakfast (Black Seed Bagel on the corner of Schermerhorn is excellent!) Cons -- While our room did not smell of marijuana, we were around a few other guests who absolutely reeked of it. Not sure what it is about this hotel that attracts that, but we had to sign a strict no-smoking policy when we checked in. --The marijuana smell in elevator and the sort of dingy look of the room made us feel it's a bit unclean. Hotel could use a freshen up. -- Toilet did not flush. We called for assistance and none came, so we kept going to the lobby toilet. Only one night stay so only minimally inconvenient but would have been a pain if it went on. --Rooms are really small, as expected in NYC area but ours (two beds) was really small. Virtually no counter space in bathroom. More downside than upside, not worth revisiting.…
When I walked in with out a reservation I was greeted by Jose at the reception desk. I ask a few questions and he was able to search for a good price price for me. Thank you Jose for your service.
Honestly this has been the worst stay at any hotel chain and from here on out I will never stay with IHG ever again. The holiday inn downtown Brooklyn was the worst! Day one : not enough towels and no clean sheets there was blood on the sheets and other things when we turned down our bed. Day two: we left at 9 am and returns to our room at 10 pm no housekeeping all day long! We never received any housekeeping all day!! I called downstairs and was told “ sorry we had over 100 arrivals today so we didn’t have enough housekeeping to get to it” this is ridiculous!! Thank you Shannon
great hotel after my last hotel experience, every time i come brooklyn i will stay here. rooms are very clean, staff are great. they have a great restaurant and very good location for shopping! i was very impressed with everything about this hotel. they even have a pool!! highly recommended. they have parking. very pleased with my experience and got my moneys worth!
Besides a slower than necessary check in process, good experience overall. Good location to venture into Manhattan and the Carroll Gardens neighborhood. Rooms were basic but enough comfort. Coffee kcups in room were actually flavorful and great bagel place one block away l
Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking was valet with in and out privileges. You text a number when you need your car out. $45 per night for minivan. $35 for regular car. Room is small but has keurig coffeemaker, mini fridge, microwave, iron and hair dryer. Beds are comfortable. Room was quiet. We were on the 12th floor. Subway is very close. About a 3 minute walk. Only downside was a very strong Marijuana smell in the room. It was on and off but very evident when we came in from being out all day. I prefer that to cigarette smoke so it wasn't really a problem for me but if you're sensitive it would. Would stay again if we returned to NYC.
There were issues not typical of Holiday Inn. The hotel was clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. But the one day of our trip we asked to have the room clean, we purposely left the entire day so it could be cleaned and it still wasn’t clean even after asking the front desk- they finally got to it around 5:00 after we came back but by then we had run out of toilet paper and had no clean towels to take a shower before going out again. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! Better than we’ve ever had at a hotel. But, the shower head didn’t tilt at all so being a small shower, forget about not washing your hair if you didn’t want to because there’s no way to avoid getting soaked. The soap was tiny!!! Have never seen such small soap at a hotel. And there’s no hand towel- there are only bath towels, or wash cloths to dry your hands which we found odd. The bed was terrible- big indentations on both sides which did not make for good sleeping. It’s time to replace the beds. While there’s no smoking in the hotel, apparently marijuana doesn’t apply- the entire floor reeked of pot (the skunky kind not the good kind!) the entire time we were there. The lobby was nice and has an atrium and restaurant, both good places to work if need be. The hotel is in a good location, lots of restaurants and shops close by and within walking distance of the subway. Overall the hotel was meh- probably wouldn’t stay here again.…
This hotel is one of the most affordable options in Brooklyn but it’s horrible. Stay elsewhere! I checked in shortly after midnight & was given a room on the 9th floor that was already occupied & the entire floor smelled like weed. After going back to the front desk, they eventually found a room on the 12th floor. The staff didn’t seem apologetic at all. The rooms are small & the toiletries are cheap. I recommend wiping everything down with Lysol/Clorox wipes & making sure there are no stains on the sheets. I found hair on the toilet seat so I don’t think housekeeping does a very through job. No hand towels were available throughout my stay. The quality of the toilet paper was so bad that I bought my own. The restaurant on-site is understaffed, overpriced & the food isn’t the best. There are a lot of other options on Atlantic Ave or CityPoint - DeKalb Market Hall.…
We recently came over from the UK to see my daughter and son-in-law and to go to a wedding in Tarrytow. I was immediately recognised as a Diamond Elite member and we were treated wonderfully by all of the great staff at the hotel. Our first stay was on the 10th floor with views over to the Verrazano Bridge and Statue of Liberty and the second was one floor up. Apart from the fact that the room was slightly on the small side given all the luggage and wheelchair we had, it was extremely comfortable and quiet. The hotel is extremely well located both for Atlantic Avenue and for the subway. We thoroughly enjoyed our two staffs and must praise the staff for being wonderful - happ, friendly and helpful. THank you guys
This hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly. I would stay here again. It was close to the Barclays Center. That was perfect for us to walk to the Nets game. It has a restaurant and bar in the hotel. The food and drinks were delicious. We recommend staying here. Our experience was cool
