I stayed in this hotel cause I was working in the area. I payed $40/day for parking, but everyday when I get back from work, parking was full. They can’t guarantee your spot in the parking even if you paid un front for it. One night the front desk guy (very rude) called me at 11:00 PM to ask me to come down to move my car, because I left it in from of the hotel and that parking was reserved for a bus.

This was, quite simply, the worst. The rooms were dirty....made the mistake of walking on the carpet in bare feet...it was sticky. While the sheets were clean, they had brown stains on them...pretty gross. The ceiling in the bathroom was cracked and peeling. The service was non-existent. If you wanted any kind of housekeeping (clean towels, clean sheets), you had to ask for it 24 hours in advance. The staff were absolutely clueless. There were only two elevators to service the entire building....no staff elevator, either, so you were often sharing the elevator with bags and bags of garbage. While we were there, one of the elevators broke. Took 30 minutes to get down to the lobby. I had my elderly mother with me, so the stairs were not an option. The room had a microwave and a Keurig, but they were unplugged, with nowhere to plug them in, unless you carry them into the bathroom. Just the worst. Stay somewhere else. There was ONE good thing about this place, and that is the The Grand Canyon Cafe, which is attached. They were terrific. If you're staying nearby, it would be worth going there for breakfast or lunch.

Stay somewhere else. The pictures might have been this place when it opened, but now it’s a run down motel. I’ve never stayed in a worse hotel outside of a third world country. First room didn’t have working AC. Moved to another room. This one had AC, though the phone was broken. We stayed anyway. The hotel is dirty and falling apart. The tiles in the lobby are chipped. The floors in the elevator and hallways are gross. And the furniture in the rooms is beat up. The ceiling in our room had been patched, but they never finished repainting. 90% sure there are prostitutes hanging in the lobby at night, and i think there are homeless people staying there, judging by some of the other clientele. They also quoted us $35 for parking and then charged us $45. And had a really hard time not overcharging us on the way out — 2 slow bill fixes. Stay anywhere else. Despite being the cheapest place in the area, it’s way overpriced for what it is.

Check in time is 3:00. It was after 6 p.m. before they gave me a room. Weren't really apologetic. Since it was so late for us to get checked in, I requested a late check out. They were like, "12:00 p.m. is the latest." Over 3 hours lingering around and they couldn't give us until 12:30. It wasn't that they didn't have rooms. They didn't appear to have enough cleaning staff. Wi-fi sucked. They basically shrugged when we asked for assistance. Lobby is immaculate, rooms way less. I almost didn't want to get off the elevator when we got to our floor so different was the appearance. I saw rats scurrying around in the garage. Skimped on the towels. Probably didn't have enough clean ones. I just came to rest while work was being done on my apartment but I just left feeling even more tired...

We booked two rooms for 8/7/2021 stay. My credit card was charged $100 ($50 per room) on August 5. I thought it was strange the hotel charged security deposit before check in. Due to long waiting line, I did not discuss the charge with the hotel when check in. I reviewed my credit card statement this evening (August 9) and the $100 charge became a real charge. The hotel lobby condition and cleanness is ok but the hallway to our room is dirty, both floor carpet and wall were filthy. The staff were not friendly at all, both front desk and house keeping staff. The room comes with coffee and tea bags, but no coffee maker. I was told you have to ask and be in the room when they bring the coffee maker to you. The safe in the room was not working at all because of no battery. We also detected strong marijuana smell both morning after 8am for a couple of hours. The smell can be detected in the hall way as well. I believe this hotel brought a bad reputation to the IHG group and the Holiday Inn brand. Although the hotel location is great, I will avoid this hotel when visiting Brooklyn.
