I just spent 4 of July week fishing in Gastavus . I think I will play the lottery, our fishin guide Greg Taylor set up our lodging and we stayed at the Glacier Bay country inn. From start to finish the entire staff worked hard to make us at home and home is what it felt like! Except for the...

The people here make this Inn. They are lovely, sincere, interested and responsive. You almost feel like you are part of the family. The employees are either family or friends of the family. The setting is lovely and tranquil. The food is exceptional. The rooms are very nice and comfortable (other than it being daytime all the time!). The chef...

I was part of a family trip to Alaska and our planner (stevetaylor57) was in charge of selecting our lodging. What a great job! The Glacier Bay Country Inn was comfortable, lovely and the staff is superlative! I stayed in a cabin (comfortable beds, nice facilities and big enough for 4 adults, a baby and luggage) but also stayed two...

My extended family of 8 just returned from eight days at the Glacier Bay Country Inn (June 2016). The stay FAR exceeded our expectations! The following review is divided into three general sections: (1) the facilities, (2) the restaurant, and (3) the excursions. First, we stayed in two of the cabins. The cabins were very comfortable, and included amenities such...

This was our second trip in two years and we thought there was no way they could top our previous stay. They did! Jim and Curtis treated us like family and went way above and beyond to accommodate us and arrange some fantastic fishing. We fished for both salmon and halibut and came back with enough fish to pay for...

We loved staying here. My first impression was that the buildings look a bit ramshackle but once I understood conditions in this part of Alaska, I realized how much the owners have done to improve the property. You start to renovate and then you have to wait for shipments of expensive supplies and then winter intervenes. I enjoyed hearing their...

From the moment the staff of this wonderful place picked us up at the airport until they returned us there two days later, we had a marvelous time. They are helpful, incredibly friendly and accommodating. We can't say enough good things about them. They are blessed with a very fine chef whose cuisine is local and wonderful. Like the others,...

Our family of five visited this idyllic resort to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The lodge and property were the perfect home base for exploring Alaska! We began planning months in advance and Curtis answered my endless questions and gave much needed advice in choosing activities for our family. During our five night stay we explored Gustavus by bike, went halibut...

Our extended family of 6 arrived opening day May 28 for a 1 week visit...and we didn't want to leave! Our trip planning began 6 months ago working with Curtis (Mgr) to reserve our cabins and plan our activities. Not only was Curtis extremely knowledgeable and professional; but also very patient and helpful. When you arrive, it is obvious that...
