First of all, let me say that the rooms are basic but quite comfortable and pleasant. It was exactly as I expected. That said, the lobby and lounging areas of the lodge are extremely pleasant. We loved the place. The food was excellent if a bit expensive. It's just such a special place - inside one of the most beautiful...

Dear Washingtondcfan, Thank you so much for the positive and thorough review! We are glad you had a great time and reviews like this help visitors enjoy their experience. Your line, "The park ranger lectures and the exhibits - there were my "tv" during the stay," really sums up the experience here. Staying at the Glacier Bay Lodge and doing...

Easily booked up and reserved a cabin via the Internet. Great location. Shuttle service was provided to and from the airport and the TAZ whale trip. They are scheduled with the various activities that take place from the lodge and the airport schedules. Friendly staff and will go the extra mile. On arrival we didn’t have to check in. The...

Beautiful location, the room was clean, but extremely simple room (motel 6 style) - no dresser at all. No wifi in the room, just the lobby of the lodge, but then it was extremely slow or didn't work at all. The staff said "it doesn't work very well if there's more than a few people on it. Also, no cell...

Mike G, Thank you for the review. For 2017, we will have new furniture, new bedding, new art work and new mattresses in the rooms and improved wifi speeds. The Glacier Bay Lodge will be a more comfortable place to stay and a better value. Our company just signed a 10-year contract so we are looking to make continual improvements...

Good, clean rooms with access to the lodge. Great place to stay when going on the glacier boat or a whale watching boat. Quiet, peaceful area in great location for hiking or kayaking. They provide transportation to airport or city docks.

I stayed for two nights at Glacier Bay Lodge. This place could use a mini face lift. The rooms are very basic and dated. No TV, cell service and minimum wifi only in lobby. That being said, this place is in a beautiful location right on Bartlett Cove and a quick walk to the boat dock for the Glacier Bay...

I'm not expecting 4 star accommodations and I didn't get that. However, the room was spacious and comfortable even if sparse. The food was very good for a national park hotel. The location was great. The staff was very good. Good that the NPS center was in the hotel. Some negatives were the fact that for every meal, one had...

Thank for your staying with us at the Glacier Bay Lodge this summer and for writing a review. We appreciate the positive comments and feedback. Regarding the boardwalks, over the next few years they will be torn out and replaced so that will improve the overall walking experience. Hopefully we will see you again someday! Thanks again, Jeff Bell -...

Stayed 2 nights and had a good visit. Staff were really good and friendly. Rooms were okay but need a little TLC......Good clean to remove mold around the shower and replace a exhaust fan which didn't work real well would be a great start. Transport to and from airport was good. The location is great. The lounge area in the...

Thank you for the review and the feedback on the lodge. In the near future we will be making renovations to the rooms and lobby. You are right that the location on the cove is unbeatable, and having the visitor upstairs is unique for a national park lodge. You are immersed in nature while at the Glacier Bay Lodge. Thank...

Room was great. Transportation always Available and on time. View wonerful. Workers outstanding. Only problem was a miscommunication about our guided kayak day trip. They did not have a record of it at the lodge but the agency that does their bookings had it and had not communicated with the lodge or kayak guide. We were able to go on...

We stayed in Glacier Bay Lodge for 6 nights in June. First the good stuff: The location is beautiful, the rain forest, and wildlife is amazing. Everyone at the hotel is very nice. But the hotel itself has seen better days. It's shabby, run-down and not very clean. The lobby furniture (lovely view) looks like it's been there for way...

We enjoyed our stay in the Glacier Bay Lodge. The rooms are cozy with a rustic feel, woody smell. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
