We had the best time...what a wonderful place. John and Rose are wonderful hosts. The cabins are clean and updated. The lodge is warm and inviting. The breakfasts were delicious and presented beautifully! And the best part for me is that they are so dog friendly. We love bringing our dog with us and they made it so easy. Gunflint...

Two years ago we visited Cross River Lodge for the first time on a hunch that it could be a nice quiet getaway. That doesn't even begin to describe it! John and Rose are now our friends as well as our gracious hosts. They create a welcoming, relaxing community for every guest, whether you are staying for a few days...

This was a return trip for us. John has stepped up breakfast with excellent omelets or french toast, along with the rest of their very good continental fair. John & Rose treat you like best friends, and the rest of the staff are helpful & friendly. The cabins are cozy, clean, and have a wondwrful view of the Gunflint. The...

What great place to stay - you can go canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking or just relaxing with a beautiful...

Back again after a year and am still convinced this is the best place to stay in the north woods. The made to order breakfast was a nice touch this year and I must say the seafood omlet was the best breakfast I'd had in quite a while. John has really mastered the art of breakfast making. What really makes...

I've been coming to Cross River (formerly Moosehorn) for about 12 years. It has always been a great place right on Gunflint Lake and now it is just fabulous! Since John and Rose took over a few years ago they have made wonderful upgrades to the cabins, suites and to the main lodge. More importantly, they treat you like family...

Once again we had a wonderful stay at Cross River Lodge! The fishing was great, the breakfasts were amazing (cooked to order by John), and the hospitality was more than anyone could ask for! Our newly remodeled cabin-Bear Paw- was beautiful, clean, and oh so comfortable! Our hosts were so accommodating; catering to whatever we may have needed. The celebration...

We could not be more pleased or impressed with Cross River. Beautiful location, very nice and newly renovated cabins, and even better hosts. We are well traveled and have never had hosts anywhere that compare to John, Rose, Linda, and Doug. We feel like we made new friends and can't wait to go back. From the great hosts, travel tips,...
