We were a group traveling on our motorcycles. This place was a bit out of town, too far to walk but the pizza delivery fron Sven and Ollies was great. The breakfast was fine and the girl on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The town itself is beautiful. It was all we needed.

The hotel needs updating but seemed to be clean overall. The airflow can also be improved, the room felt stuffy. The continental breakfast was always fresh. The hot tub was nice especially after being on the hill all day. There is no pool. If you're looking for a simple hotel with basic amenities this is a good place.

I would consider this your average motel at best. Used to be a Super 8 and now is Aspen Inn. Not only needs updating but certainly needs a good cleaning. The staff was friendly and the breakfast in the morning very basic. I thought the price paid was a bit high for this property, will spend a few more dollars... More

Having been to Grand Marais many times I knew not to expect the Ritz, which is perfectly fine with me. Once I arrived I lowered my expectations a couple more notches. This motel has clearly seen better days, and hasn't been updated in a long time. Bed was hard in my back. It's a less than average motel. Better than... More

We enjoyed a comfortable room with a beautiful view of the lake out our window. It was close to the downtown area, so that was convenient. I felt that he price of the room was a little high for a very basic hotel room.

We did not make hotel plans ahead of our visit so most places right in town or on the water, were booked. We stayed at the Aspen Inn which was about a mile outside of downtown. The motel was very old and worn out. It was relatively inexpensive, but honestly it was still not worth the $90/night. It was amazingly... More

We booked a room here for 4 nights. We are working on a construction crew 15-17 hours a day and our cell service was patchy. It was getting late (8pm) so my wife called to let them know we would be checking in late. She was told they sold our room. There was a problem with the credit card and... More
