Room was pleasant and tidy. They lit a bonfire every night we were there so all the guests could hang around and drink beer. The food was absolutely delightful with a homely feel, and we kept having to look out for the monkeys. I like the view of the lake, but wish there was more structured lake access.

My husband and I and one other friend stayed in a triple room (three double beds) here for one night. The room was clean with plenty of space and hot water and mosquito nets. Had a nice patio/porch in front of room with table and three chairs to look out onto the lake view. The dining area also has a...

We stopped here for two nights during our Uganda self drive/camping trip. Camping grounds are nice, with grass and plenty of shade. The food they offer was excelent and plenty and prices were normal. The place itself is in stunning location, overlooking romantic crater lake. We did a hike around the lake and also a chimpanzee tracking in nearby Kibale...

We camped for 2 nights in the main compound and our friends took a room. Excellent food and a very nice setting at the lake. Very convenient for your visit to the Kibale chimps and for the Bigodi swamps.

This place could be absolutely wonderful. It is located at a quiet place near one of the crater lakes. However, the owner hasn't done any maintanence to the place. It is dirty and the place looks like a mess. When we wanted to have diner here, we were shocked by the prices. They asked 40.000 for a plate of rice...

We are American residents living in Uganda and wanted a vacation in the Fort Portal area. Living on a budget, we were looking for a budget hotel. We found this accommodation on tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. Huge mistake! First of all, the advertising is mostly false. They tell you that you can swim in a bilharzia-free...

My partner (now fiance) and I stayed here for two nights exactly one year ago. I never got around to writing a review, but upon reflecting back on our trip (and seeing some current TripAdvisor entries), I decided to share my positive experience. CVK is indeed "lakeside budget accommodation" as described. We are budget travelers, so we never expected a...

Avoid. Terrible service and they pretended they didn't have our money and the manager had gone to town when we asked for a refund for the boat ride that we couldn't take because the boat didn't float. On the bright side the setting is nice place to have a drink.

The Owner is extremely charming and friendly and we could have spent hours talking to him. The lake was beautiful and the swimming excellent. How many times do you get to jump in an African volcano? The setting was stunningly beautiful. HOWEVER..... The rooms were very dirty, especially the bathrooms that are full of mold. The place is very run...

CKV is budget style accommodation beautifully located on the tranquil crater Lake Nyabikere (meaning lake of frogs), facing the Mountains of the Moon (Rwenzori) where snow is visible on a clear day.
