Where do I start - the location and rooms were superb and the Christine and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We had evening meals delivered to our unit and they were delicious. If you want a peaceful stay in stunning surroundings I could not fault Rorkes Drift Lodge. My only recommendation would be to ensure that you stay long...

Thank you for this brilliant review. We appreciate the time that it took for you to write it. We also think our guests should stay longer and we encourage them to do so. Definitely worth staying 3 or 4 days at a time. We hope you will return to visit us again sometime.

We loved our stay at Rorke's Drift Lodge. We spread the family over three of the units, all of which were individually stunning. We loved sitting outside for dinner and breakfast and watching the odd antelope wander past. The catering (pre-order menu choices for a delicious meal served at your unit) is superb. The co-owner Paul gave us a superb...

Thank you for your super review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. And thank you for mentioning the road and the fact that a BMW made it up our much maligned road! We hope to see you again soon.

The location was incredible, words, photos and pictures cannot do justice to such an idyll. As well as it being the perfect spot for discovering the battlefields, it was also the perfect spot to soak up the ambience of such a beautiful country. The accommodation was wonderful: the beds were very comfortable, (even had electric blankets to keep you warm)...

On our travels through SA, we wanted to visit the zulu battlefields, and were not disappointed with Rorke's Drift Lodge. They supplied everything and more than you needed if you wanted to braai and had the most amazing cook\chef if you didn't. Our family traveled 2800km around Africa and we all agreed that the food we had here was the...

This is the perfect spot to stay for a tour of the zulu battlefields, situated right on the bank of the buffalo river, your host Charles is an absolute wealth of knowledge with regard to the Anglo zulu war. Not a 5 star establishment but you are made very welcome there and it is very comfortable. We stayed in early...

We really enjoyed the two nights spent at the lodge. The accommodation and service were very good and reasonable, a good place to see the battlefields of Isandwala and Rorke's Drift and more if you have more time to spare. Nice walks on the property, up the mountain with amazing rock formations, or down into the donga. The few km...

Wanting to visit the battlefields led us to Rorkes Drift lodge, lucky for us. From the drive on the lodge track to the accommodation itself was awesome. Our rooms were different, but quirky - which added to our experience. Certainly to be recommended.

Our 2 night stop at Rorke's Drift Lodge was taken as part of a wider KZN trip. The lodge is ideally situated for visits to both the Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift battlefields. Our hire car was a Toyota Avanza and taking it steady this coped perfectly well with the drive up to the lodge. We stayed in the Kune family...

Great place to spend a few days to relax and catch up on the local history. Lots to do, the scenery is amazing and the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. The track into the lodge was no problem for my Ford fiesta.
