Well kept, quaint older hotel. Loved the old, original manually operated elevator! My room overlooked the street and had a very nice sitting area with a comfortable chair, daybed, sink and refrigerator.

We were in town for a wedding and this location was great! Yes it is an old hotel but so much character. The floors do creek, but my goodness it is old- not an issue. The staff was very friendly. The morning quick breakfast offerings were basic but very good- especially the pastries. We will def stay here again when...

HORRIBLE. It couldn't have been noisier if I had camped on the sidewalk. I slept not at all. Management was not sympathetic. SIngle pane old windows and no black out drapes. The light from the parking garage across the street poured in the room and of course it is lit all night. It was truly ridiculous. I checked out at...

We are soo sad to hear that the outside noise was an issue for you. We apologize for your inconvenience. The building is of historic nature so those rooms on the front of the building (which is the ones your are referring to) can not be changed due to the historic nature of the building. A favorite room for some...

We enjoyed our stay very much while in town for business. It is right off the main strip of shops and restaurants that we walked to for dinner and entertainment. We enjoyed their complimentary evening wine, and was very impressed by their continental breakfast. They had local pastries from cheesecake restaurant around the corner. Beds and room were comfortable.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel last month and had a great experience!! This charming hotel is going to be our go to place from now on. Beautiful room with high ceilings. The lobby looks like a picture in a magazine! Two of your staff really stood out with me and I made sure to get their names...

Quaint old hotel in downtown Greensboro. It located near the Cone Denim Theater. Once we were parked we did not have to leave., There were places to eat within walking distance. Our room (330) was located at the front of the hotel across the street from the parking garage. Avoid the front of the hotel because the noise from people...

The room was furnished very tastefully. They are pet friendly, which helped in deciding where we wanted to stay. The wine and cheese was delicious and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. My hat goes off to the staff. Thanks

Employees all had great, helpful attitudes. Breakfast had fresh, bakery pastries. The electric elevator was a neat throwback in time and worked just fine. This is a property that dates back to 1903 that has been repurposed as a small hotel. Our double-double room was fine but a little tighter than a chain hotel. All in all, our stay here...

Great experience at this cute hotel. Incredibly welcoming staff, yummy breakfast, quaint and tidy rooms with charm of years long past. Stayed in double queen room with 2 children & we were plenty comfortable. Easy walk to many restaurant choices & events at Carolina theatre. Would highly recommend and you won't beat the value in downtown Greensboro any where!

Very nice staff; the parking deck across the street was convenient (with validated parking, as well); easy walking to all Greensboro attractions. The rooms were dated and the beds were soft. If you are into that, great, if not, it could be a problem.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our history begins in 1903, when the building was constructed to house the burgeoning corporate empire of Cone Export and Commission Company. At the time it was said to be “in every way up-to-date and well appointed.” This means completed wired for electricity and plumbing, and in 1920, they added one of Greensboro’s first unmanned elevators to the building; it is the one we still use today. They occupied the space until 1924 when they moved to larger building around the corner. At that time, the building housed local insurance companies. It was in 1929, that the building was converted to living quarters. Half of the building was used as an annex to the local post office, until 1932, and the other half was listed in the city directory as furnished rooms. The Greenwich, as it became known as the following year, was one of the first to offer private baths for around $2.00 a day. In the late ‘40s, early 50s, it became known as the Greenwich Apartments and stayed this way until the mid-1960s. In the late ‘60s, the building reopened as the Greenwich Inn, and a new face was brought to the building by renowned interior designer Otto Zenke. He modeled the hotel after an English hunting club and decorated the lobby as an old world drawing-room with walnut paneling and traditional hunting scenes. The hotel changed ownership once again 1992, and was renamed the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel. Today, we pride ourselves as a fine boutique establishment, offering old world charm accentuated by modern amenities you would find at any hotel of distinction. Under new ownership since 2007, we look forward to continuing to provide memorable experiences for all our guests. Stay once and not only will we remember your name but the little things like your favorite room or you need for a late checkout. It is always “no problem.” ... more   less
