My husband had just undergone surgery at Kampot hospital and I stayed here while he was in hospital. They were very helpful and packed up meals for him to eat. Nothing was too much trouble. Opposite the river and central for eateries etc. Old French colonial building so don't expect it to be immaculate, but very comfortable place to Sit...

When i read some of the other reviews i wonder if they stayed at the same hotel, they could not of stayed in Room 1. Hopefully my pictures will prove me correct. In all my years of travelling i have never stayed in a dirtier room. behind the television must never have been cleaned for years. Dust, dirt and cobwebs...

I ordered a muesli fruit and yoghurt. Instead i got a plate of fruit, some of which was very old, sprinkled with a few oats and a tiny side dish of yoghurt. Not impressed. The cafe has a good position along the river which was why we selected it for breakfast. Probably should have just had a coffee and enjoyed...

I went in for drinks on Christmas day. The staff were lovely and very attentive when needed. I've been visiting BML on and off for 15 years. As I was drinking what was to be my final beer. A westerner swooped into view and barked a few orders. With amazing speed the tables and chairs were put away. Leaving me...

Waiting over half an hour for the Red Snapper. Very little else left available on the menu so had little choice even at 7pm. Tiny fish very little meat. One of the most dissapointing mealsl I've had in Cambodia.

We ate here after passing by the evening before. It looks a bit run down but they do serve good food. The red snapper special, a tad dry for my tastes, was very nice and the baramundi my wife had was equally nice. Worth a visit if you're strolling past.

We didn't stay here, but popped in for some food after an afternoon drinking. I remember being amused that the cutlery had its own little sleeping bags. My food was excellent. I had chicken with cashew nuts from the Asian section of the menu. It was very tasty and went down a treat. I particularly liked that there were a...

Came here unintentionally to support a muso mate playing. Was planning a quick drink and moving on for dinner. My mate played so well we stayed on and had a feed. Great variety and great food. We sat outside with beers and a great music session.

We didnt stay at the lodge but had a meal there. Its a great location on the river front. My wifes meal was very nice.....I was dissapointed in mine, a pasta salad, as they had used deli ham instead of the advertised prosciutto ham. I told the waitress that this was a disappointing aspect of the meal. She got the...

I'm not quite sure how I have managed to miss the lodge on all my previous visits but finally made it in on our Pchum Ben holiday. Service was good and friendly (only one mention is they should keep an eye on 'blind spots'). Cocktails were luscious and the food was just amazing - definitely the best fish and chips...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bokor Mountain Lodge, previously Marco Polo, FCC, is a boutique hotel, restaurant and bar on the riverfront in Kampot. It has recently undergone a dramatic and extensive refurbishment and is now open as a hotel, bar and restaurant. This beautiful old building has once again taken its rightful place in the lives of expats, tourists and locals alike. Nestling on the banks of the Pek Kampong Bai River, which flows into the Gulf of Thailand, the Lodge is set amid wonderfully evocative crumbling French colonial architecture. In this setting, it is impossible not to dream of an age gone by while dining or sipping drinks in the bar and passing the time of day with Kampot's friendly and sociable local residents. Cruise up the river and watch the sunset or relax over a gorgeous 'fish amok' in our restaurant as another day drifts past and you'll begin to realize why Kampot is such a tricky place to leave! ... more   less
