The 3 night homestay in the backwaters of Kerala was a major highlight of our trip. It provided numerous ways of viewing the unique and beautiful waterways, paddy fields and local life. From the moment we arrived the welcome with received from Mr Kumar, Mr and Mrs Chako was first class. They made every effort to ensure we got the...

Staying with Mr Chacko and his family was fun and pleasant. In my opinion, it is a much better backwater experience than the usual overnight trip on a house boat. Nelpura is located in a small village about 10 km away from Alleypey, there is access by car, but it is much nicer to ask Nelpura's boat to pick you...

We arrived in the pouring rain our bottoms very wet from the canoe transfer. We were welcomed by Kumar the house keeper who made us feel very at home. During our stay we were beautifully looked after, nothing was too much trouble. We cooked with Sulima and Chacko which was fasinating as we're the evenings spent chatting to Chacko. On...

We arrived in early September a week after heavy monsoon rains and had the luxurious home stay to ourselves for our 2 night visit. Activities including a relaxing evening boat trip, a rejuvenating massage and an insightful introduction into south-Indian cooking were organised by the able housekeeper, Kumar. We also had an enjoyable, long, and very warm walk along the...

It is interesting to call this property a homestay. The two double rooms, which were very clean, are actually in a traditional Keralan wooden pavillion located at the end of the garden and meals are taken in the main house. We were in the canal view room and were the only guests for the first day and our meals were...

We stayed for one night at this home stay, and the hospitality was wonderful. The home stay is on a system of canals, and we were taken in a canoe to the homestay. Wonderful experience, on the canoe ride, as we passed through the lifestyle of people living along the canal. Most household chores of cleaning and hygiene done on...

This is an ideal location to explore and immerse yourself in the backwaters of Kerala. Chacko and Salimma gave us a warm welcome . The homestay is characterful as it is a traditional wooden Keralan building . Whilst there we walked around the village and were greeted by many people en route. We also borrowed the family's bicycles to travel...

A very nice place (including terraces with comfortable chairs and beds where you feel like spending time chilling), in a family spirit. Mr Chacko and his wife are really really kind, they helped us a lot to organise things. We had interesting discussions about India, society, which enabled us to understand better the region. The "concierge" is also an emblematic...

Arrival at Nelpura by canoe is a wonderful way to begin your stay at this charming homestay. We received a very warm welcome from Mr Kumar and later from Mr Chacko and his family.
