I visited the resort in the month of December with family. We booked a suit room but due to some electrical problm the offer me villa room in the 1st floor. As I booked suit room they became very sorry for the inconvenience we faced and the adjusted the extra tariff that we already paid for suit room. The villa room is just beside the lake.The room and the bathroom are huge in size and the bed linens are very tidy. There is a lawn infront if the villa. They have fishing facility m. The person named Bahadur is ready to help you in fishing and in swimming pool. The give 30 minutes complementary boat journey. The front desk boy named Anand is very helpful.He is always ready to help you with a smile. Food is also tasty but they should include more menu . The spa is awesome. Various types of body massage is done by trained therapist One must try the full body massage here. As the resort is beside the kake ,the path of the entrance is a little narrow but it is negligible.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was to our satisfaction, though an alcohol license would have been made our dinners more enjoyable ( a cold beer and cool ambience)! We were given information on the boat available but as we were first timers n tired, we ended up in a big houseboat when we would have preferred the smaller ones and a shorter trip. A visual brochure would have helped us make the decision better. Though the lunch was great on the houseboat n views great. If planning a trip to town, get a card with info on Resort as the Auto guys may not know its location for return trip. Fix fares before boarding auto, if not they overcharge. Good way to travel as your see the local sights too. Grounds were well kept, though could have done with more seating areas. Staying by the lake was my first experience on seeing a vast size lake...awesome.

From the food menu half of the items were not available, room service was not available, every time we have to get down to the restaurant which takes 10 mins from room area to restaurant. Food was very poor,tasteless n unhygienic. We complaint for the same but we didn't get response, staff don't even care what their guests are going through. They are not even serving bowls n spoons along with the plates and once you asked for it they will take 15/20 minutes just to serve bowl n spoon. I understand due to corona I house activities are closed but still we have paid full amount and that to more than the actual price of the tarrif just to make sure our good stay with good quality of food. Better to look for another property, if I have option to rate in minus I would love to do it.

We started in Uday for 3 nights in April. It’s a huge property but with small glitches. Property is big with view of the lake from all rooms. There is a swimming pool as well. Room: room size is decent but has a dated feeling and had a musty smell when we checked in. One of the pillows had a hole and a black mark over it which housekeeping replaced when we complained.
Bathroom is decent but there was black dirt along the edges of the shower area. There was a leak in the faucet pipe on our 2nd day there and the bathroom got flooded. But housekeeping quickly fixed it and cleaned up the place.
The power in the room wouldn’t turn on if you keep the key card in the entry slot. The electrician couldn’t fix it. So he managed to turn on the power with a piece of paper inserted in the slot and told us to never take it out !!! Even one of the plug points near the study table also wasn’t working.
The restaurant menu had lot of items like pizza, burger, kids menu etc. But they were never available during our stay!!
On my last night, I forgot my key in the room when we went for dinner. On return, I couldn’t find the key and thought I had lost it. When I went back to the reception and asked for alternate key, the lady and gent there started whispering with each other , and throwing covert glances toward where we were seated. Finally after 5mts, I asked them if they intended to give me a key to which they replied that I had to pay Rs 300 for extra key !! This was so incredulous that I said I was willing to check out then and there and spend the night in the reception than pay extra money for room key!! They finally gave the key when my son started crying loudly.
If they improve the look and feel of the room, add some seating area near the lake where you can relax , it would be so much better. There is no laundry service though there is a laundry slip in the room. I asked reception about it and they said it was outsourced to some local guy. I was still ready to give some clothes for laundry and asked her to arrange pickup but it never happened. No idea why!!
The only saving grace of this resort and what we absolutely loved, were the animals and birds. There were rabbits, a cat with her kittens, ducks, hen, turkeys etc.

Our stay at Uday Backwater Resort was fantastic! Initially booked for 4 nights, we reduced it to 3 due to personal reasons. Despite the change, the hotel staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Every member of the team was friendly, kind, and always had a smile. The service was impeccable; everyone went out of their way to assist us promptly. Even with the resort being busy, the restaurant service was sharp and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of dishes making each day special. The rooms and restaurant were exceptionally well-maintained, among the cleanest resorts we've seen in India. The Spa was brilliant, offering a range of services that were well explained and executed by professional staff. The grounds were beautiful, with informative posts about the different birds and butterflies, as well as a stunning Snake Boat model on display. The swimming pool was large and surrounded by beautiful palm trees, and the artwork on the buildings added a lovely touch to the resort. Taxi and TukTuk services were available onsite and welcomed by the security team, who were extremely helpful and polite. The reception area, with its instrumental flute music and comfortable sofas, was a delight. It's worth mentioning that bugs and tiny creatures are expected due to the resort's natural surroundings but the resort provides free anti-mosquito diffusers for the rooms. Generally the rooms are free of bugs if you keep the balcony doors closed when not in use and keep the fan on to circulate the air. The dock for boat trips, located at the end of the swimming pool, was easily accessible and operated by the resort. While all services are available from reception, it's advisable to compare prices elsewhere for better deals. The only minor issue was the slightly poor TV connection in the room, and it would have been nice to have Netflix or a similar service available. However, the free WiFi onsite was pretty decent. Overall, our experience at Uday Backwater Resort was exceptional, and we would highly recommend it to others!

One day trip to uday resort,punnamada gave us very calm and peaceful atmosphere.Entrance itself with ancient record player gives us different feeling.Each blocks,with Buddha statue,stone lamps,kathakali sculpture,green lawns,lagoon arched with Different plants all are poetic.food aha super.chefs gave us food with care and Concern.night seating in the balcony the slight raining and breeze from kayal,,dim lights surrounding we felt like heaven in earth.in the morning my daughters enjoys swimming.other tourists enjoys walking,cycling, shuttle cock playing.one aged man from North India who is in wheel chair was brought and his sons showed him All the views and that sight is very touching... Morning complementary breakfast simply superb! Idly,pancake,puttu,kadala,channa bhatura,bread butter jamfruits,juices, coffee,tea egg ghee roast very tasty. Executive chef Riyas,Akhil,Bipin,Rahul,Shijin,Jaims all are excellent chefs.Lunch provided by them fish curry meals and mutton biriyani Fish fry all are very tasty.Hats off chef's! Unforgettable trip.Suit rooms are Wonderful having all amenities.

We stayed at Uday Backwater Resort for 5 days and 4 nights, and every moment spent here was memorable!
The property is absolutely gorgeous, with lush green lawns, a beautiful pool, well-maintained premises and the loveliest view of the backwaters.
Because of heavy rains and flooding in some parts of Kerala, we were unable to enjoy any boat rides, but the stay more than made up for it.
From booking (booking.com) to our farewell, everything was seamless. The staff was super cordial and the service was stellar. They even provided us with an HDMI cable on request! Sumesh at the front desk, and Athira and Rahul at Aambal restaurant were stand-out for us. They helped us with anything with needed, hopefully with a smile under their masks.
Covid protocols were being followed very well and the staff were never seen without masks, even though there was no one near them.
This place is definitely worth a visit for super service, gorgeous locale, amazing premises, lip-smacking food, and overall peaceful and serene stay! We give it 5 stars out of 5!

The hotel and the view of backwaters is awesome. The rooms are very comfortable and staff is courteous. The hotel can arrange for houseboat trip if required on extra payment. The buffet breakfast and dinner are delicious and there is lots of variety on offer. Only negative is that the checkin process is pretty slow. Nonetheless its worth staying.

With the Uday Backwater Resort, none of the photographs on their website look as picturesque as when my family of 18 stayed for two nights! Every member of my family from my two year old nephew to my 79 year old mother loved the awe-inspiring experience, from the green lawns, the verdant backwaters, the line of quacking ducks and honking geese, the gobbling turkeys and the sparkling clear swimming pool.
A quaint tea shop in the evenings provides a perfect treat to the senses as one sips piping hot tea accompanied by snacks on the lawn with a magnificent view of the Vembanad Lake.
The rooms are comfortable, with clean and spacious bathrooms. Small touches like portable foot massagers show the attention to detail put into the resort! The view from the lake-view second floor rooms is worth the price by itself!
The complimentary breakfasts are excellent with live dosa and egg stations. The number of items are just enough to provide for every taste and palate without an overload of dishes.
The restaurant Aambal is quiet, where our family could talk and laugh without the conversations being drowned out by pretentious "mood music".
The amenities include a well equipped gym and a badminton court which we enjoyed using. A spa and massage center is also available which we did not use.
Every member of the staff is friendly, helpful and professional.
Nothing in this world is perfect though! The access road to the resort is very narrow and a bit intimidating for less experienced drivers.
