We stayed at this lovely respite by the sea for five nights. We came away with nothing but fond memories of the delightful staff headed by the owner Wayan. They were so courteous, respectful, accommodating, and kind to us the whole time. We befriended a...More
Great location to go snorkelling straight out the front of the bungalow. Amed gets reeeeeally hot in the afternoon so it's nice to go for a snorkel mid morning & late arvo. The rest of the day can be spent chilling by the pool, siesta,...More
This is my second stay at Apa Kabar, and equally enjoyable the second time around. With some major works being done since last September, there are a few more rooms, and more of a resort type feel without taking away from what it was, so...More

Hi there, it is possible to walk to some other places, but essentially Amed requires transport to explore and see it all. You can hire scooters from Apa Kabar, at the front desk for $5 a day and reasonably safe to get around. The other option you have with restaurants in the area is that they will pick you up and drop you back at the Villas.
There is lots to explore in the area, so a scooter is the way to go, just return it with a full tank and all will be sweet
