There is plenty to love about these cute little wooden cabins with relaxing outdoor patios and 360 degree windows. The staff is extremely friendly and although there isn't much to do due to the location there is a pool table and darts in the restaurant which closes at 10pm. The temps are much cooler as noted by previous reviews and there is a computer (rather slow) on the restaurant's second floor incase you need to check in. The food wasn't great, Had the veggie curry and banana fritters was my highlight and a very soggy apple pie my low light. Breakfast also basic but of course what it is known for are the strawberries which were certainly tasty!
I love it here, my favorite place. Things to not like........nothing. Things to like........everything! Strawberry Hill is an ideal overnight stop on a road trip to the north coast, the cool weather is a pleasant change from the heat and humidity along the coast. The cabins are beautiful, gardens exquisite, comfortable beds, plentiful breakfast, and superb views on a clear day, right across to Mt Agung.
Let us start with a bit of context. It was raining heavily when we visited so the view couldn't be appreciated. The cottage itself was fine but due to the rain, the bed felt damp. Dinner options are few since the hotel is situated between two roads and the quality of the hotelrestaurant is inadequate. Car noise goes on during the night. Everything was clean and looked sharp. The breakfast is brought to you in the morning and was good!
We stayed for two nights at the Strawberry Hill Hotel and we had a good experience over here. The staff is very friendly and the food tasted well. I especially liked the curry. The area was much colder than at other places in Bali, but that is expected when you're staying at this altitude in the mountains. Just be sure bring some warm clothes, so there's no need to complain. The Wifi was not really good in our cottage, but works well at the restaurant and other cottages. We spend our day at the botanical gardens, which is a lovely big park nearby. If you're not someone who complains about every little detail, I would definitely recommend this place.
We stayed here for 2 nights. The wooden cottages were lovely! They have tea/coffee making facilities and a nice bathroom with bath and shower. The garden is very nice too, with a pond and small strawberry garden. You can have your breakfast served in your cottage if you please. The staff of the restaurant and reception were super friendly. They even prepared take out lunch for us when we went for a day out to the botanical gardens. The botanical garden is a great day trip from the hotel, if you do it by foot like us. It was a bit chilly in the area when we were there, but that is to be expected at that height! And the hotel does offer hot water bottles or there’s a fireplace at the restaurant to warm up. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this place to…
Spent a night at Strawberry Hills as part of a tour. The room was simple but well put together - cosy and comfortable, and everything worked. The restaurant is good and very reasonable. The fresh strawberry waffles are very good, and the sekoteng hot drink is very tasty (and tangy!) The slightly cooler climate here makes for a very comfortable night's sleep.
We stayed here only one night so had lunch at their restorant and food is nothing good.. in a place like this i imagined more, but its okey. Nothing to do around here.. we already had visited their tample on a lake so really nothing to do. Also they forgot our breakfast so we had to go and order it again and when we finally got it, eggs where raw or even rotten(not sure).. :D
We stopped at Strawberry Hill during our tour around Bali. Having arrived in the afternoon the place seemed hidden and cold, although the rooms are great, little warm cottages with all amenities. But the morning was a full surprise with all the colors of the garden. The restaurant service is a bit slow but everybody is so kind, you barely notice the delay. Would love to come back
Hi, I do not write reviews a lot, but I do make an occasion on this one! The cottages look really cute and the garden is clean and well designed! When you enter the room, it smells duff (not good), it kinda smells like old wood in your basement. The room was quite cold. Your hotel is situated at an elevation of 1400m and you did not even provide a small heater in the rooms. The service at your restaurant was not the standard I was used to! The plates were never taken off the table before the other plates arrived! The garçon did not let us taste the wine before we could drink it and the rose was disgusting! The food was not that good. I am sorry for writing such a review, but this was my honest opinion. Cheers
Beautiful grounds and rooms! Great view. Quiet area - not much around. Wifi offered in room but never worked. Separate wifi offered in restaurant, but also did not work. Please don't waste our time, if yo are not going to have adequate wifi anywhere, just say you dont have it. TV was difficult - 30 channels mixed in with 50 channels that didn't work. Turn channel, wait 2 seconds to see if it's a working channel or just static. Repeat 80 times. No screens in windows. No AC but, very high elevation, so night was cool & didn't need AC (for reference, I always crank AC full blast).
