Strawberry Hill's individual cabins incorporate features of a typical Indonesian mountain-style residence, such as wood floors, and wooden-clad walls. Each has a comfortable, colourful and cozy interior, a balcony facing one of Bedugul's dormant volcanoes, and its own en-suite bathroom complete with bathtub and plenty of hot water, for those unexpectedly cool high-altitude evenings. Our restaurant serves tasty Indonesian and international favourites, and on cool nights boasts Bali's only real log fire!
Spent one night in this hotel, not much to do in the area but we used it as a stop off to break up a journey. Rooms had lots of extra beds which would be great for a bigger group of people or families. Food was good and there is a snooker table, but no pool.

Thank you for your review, and for your helpful comments, although a pool is absolutely not necessary in Bedugul, so close to the warm lowlands and the sea!

We loved the room, however make sure to bring warm clothing as it can be pretty cold. The weather was not so nice when we visited the hotel, and it was cold at night. The second day we discovered that the staff can bring hot water jars which was delightful.

Thank you for recommending that visitors bring warm clothing. It's only relevant in August, as that's our coolest month. So glad that you availed yourselves of our hot water bottles.

I stayed here as a part of an Intrepid tour, and I quite enjoyed it. The layout of the cottages is a bit weird, and the numbers are very hard to find on them. I never did locate the number on my cottage; I trusted my roommate that we had the right one! The cottages were very cute, and quite spacious, with a very nice shower. The rooms had free Wi-Fi, but no air-con as it was cool enough in the evenings anyway, and it wasn't needed. The restaurant/bar area was very nice, with a big open fireplace, and the food was amazing, although they did run out of a few items when we were there. The staff were great, and the hotel is an easy drive into the centre of Bedugul. It is on a bend in the road though, so road noise can be a problem if you're a light sleeper, and there were also a…

Thank you for sharing such appreciative comments to help other potential visitors! The numbers are all part of the mysteries of Bali, but each room does also have a name - that of one of Indonesia's volcanoes.

There isn't a lot of accommodation in Bedugul, and certainly little that appeals to a flash-packer/midrange market (a lot of what's here is either luxury villas, or cheap and grubby backpacker lodging), so Strawberry Hill Hotel is one of the best options in town for us in-between types. The property consists of a main building housing the restaurant and reception / lobby, and then you walk through a small gate to discover a beautiful garden, nestled with about 17-18 bungalows (I don't know the exact number, but I was in 17 and was right at the back of the property). Each bungalow is completely self-contained, so you aren't bothered by neighbours, and they look out over the gardens, and towards the distant mountains. It is rainy and misty in these hills, and was unseasonably…

It's a delight to read a review such as yours, full of praise where due, and constructive comments, also where due. We take note of those, and they are being addressed. Thank you so much for taking the time to write these memories all down for us and for others.

This hotel was so charming the rooms so cozy and spacious and the grounds were beautiful. Such a relaxing place to ger to after travelling. The food in their restaurant was delicious! I travelled all around Bali and Java and this was one of my favourite hotels i would go back to.

This place was adorable! The art and curtains inside the room were really cute and cozy, and the bathroom felt like a spa. The attached restaurant was excellent, since the hotel is a bit remote it was nice to have a restaurant with a fireplace, pool table, and darts! I'd absolutely come back here again.

Its a really nice hotel with little houses. The houses are really sweet and the whole area made with love to detail. The only negative point is the noise because its located on a street. But its not too bad. The restaurant has good food for cheap prices and the stuff is really kind!

I rarely make an effort to sit down and write a review for a hotel but in this case i’ll make an exception! We stayed there for one night with my BF on our 2 weeks holidays travelling in Bali. It was the most expensive and the worst one! We arrived early in the evening tired after the whole day on the bike and were happy to treat ourselves to a nice bungalow with a bath for 600k rupee a night (=$60NZD). Checked with a reception if the hot water is working well to take the bath. Got the positive answer. In the end - no hot water either in the bath tub or in the shower. Plumbers came twice late in the evening - didn’t do anything and said it was normal. No one at the reception at 9pm to solve our problem. But the worst was the lady at the check-out who called us liers and was…

Thank you. Clearly misunderstandings here, as our engineering and after your reporting of a problem with the hot water, our housekeeping staff went twice to check your room's water heater, and made sure that it was indeed working again correctly. Again the next morning, when you checked out, and again mentioned the matter, staff again went to the room to check, and it was working. You refused to go and see for yourself! Our Reception staff was around that night until midnight, and there's always someone on hand 24 hours! Nobody called you liars - they simply told you that the hot water was working! And they DID offer you a discount, offering you the Single occupancy rate, which you accepted and paid. So who is the one telling untruths?!

From our arrival and thruout our 2 day stay except for 2 very small issues already mentioned to management and fixed or will be fixed we cannot compliment this property, its owner and it's team enough. The gardens are spectacular. The small villa bungalows with stone bath and shower are well designed and the villa has good guest amenities such as toiletries and linen. The sleeping arrangements were a queen bed and double bunks but in the day time it becomes a settee. Balcony with views over the manicured garden and hills in the background. Cable and local tv. Note no air con but who needs it here. The restaraunt food and atmosphere great and yes even a log fire were much more than anticipated. Finally the staff. Well true Balinese spirit and kindness experienced from all…

The hotel is much nicer than photos and comments suggested. Beautiful setting, landscaping and rooms great, good breakfast too. The nearby road does make noise. That to not the only really negative I can think of about the hotel.

We're really grateful to you for heaping praise on all of the features of our hotel that we work hard on, and for not letting the one less than positive feature over which we have no control affect your rating of us. Thank you so much!
