Strawberry Hill's individual cabins incorporate features of a typical Indonesian mountain-style residence, such as wood floors, and wooden-clad walls. Each has a comfortable, colourful and cozy interior, a balcony facing one of Bedugul's dormant volcanoes, and its own en-suite bathroom complete with bathtub and plenty of hot water, for those unexpectedly cool high-altitude evenings. Our restaurant serves tasty Indonesian and international favourites, and on cool nights boasts Bali's only real log fire!

This was the perfect place for a one night stopover for our north Bali road trip - except that one night was not enough! There were many places to go exploring in the area, that we never got to unfortunately. A good reason to come back. The hotel is lovely and easy to find - cabins really, dotted all over the beautiful grounds. Our cabin (Merapi) was comfortable, with a a nice bathroom and the shower (no problems with water here) separate to the big stone bath. There was no top sheet on the bed, which seems to be a growing (annoying) trend these days, so we just pulled the doona out from inside the cover and use the cover, otherwise it is too hot. We had a delightful little balcony where we ate our breakfast - which was also very good. Cooked fresh and delivered to your

We were originally staying in a hotel called the tree house waterfall villas (which was a disaster). After emailing the strawberry Hill Hotel we got a reply almost immediately saying they could put us up and would send a driver to pick us up 'rescue us' from our nightmare. This is how we came to meet our driver and most amazing human being we have ever met. If you ever need a driver in this area he is called dewe made and he is fantastic. Ask your hotel for his number or message me and I can send it to you privately. My email is mattrsmusic@hotmail.co.uk. We loved our driver so much that we used him for the rest of our travel in bali. He took is everywhere and took us to some interesting spots along the way. Now the hotel. It is secluded just south of the temple on the lake but

Lovely place with cozy cottages that are designed in balinese style. Lovely gardens, they even have their own strawberries. Try the strawberry daiquiri 😋. Food was good too. Only the proximity of the main road does not quite fit this idyllic setting. For two nights it was no problem and during the day we were out. Good value for money.

We're very grateful for your feedback. We're happy that the road's proximity did not in fact spoil your enjoyment of Strawberry Hill.

Lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens. Rooms remind me of a ski chalet ... Very cosy. There is no air-con, but you don't need it since hotel is 4500-5000 feet up, and much cooler than kuta/ubud. Restraunt is fine. Food is simple but really nice. Service is exceptionally high, but not too "in your face". A perfect base from which to explore local temples and lakes and waterfalls. The hotel will organise hiking guides if you ask. Two downsides: 1. Hotel is only eatery within safe walking distance. You can organise a taxi through hotel though. 2. Hotel is next to a busy road which can be quite noisy. There are no sidewalks on this road, so dangerous to walk on it during the day, and suicidal at night. All in all, I'd recommend the place on service and (road aside) location

We're very grateful for your considered comments, which will help our future visitors. Thank you for pointing out that our location is the ideal base from which to explore the many attractions of our surrounding area. Would just like to assure future guests that road noise is greatly reduced by closing the windows, which is advisable in any case at night, due to the cool temperatures.

WE stated here for one night as part of a group tour and what a lovely place! Very quaint with a European feel, Strawberry Hill hotel was such a fantastic place to stay. The service was excellent. The bungalows where we stayed were gorgeously decorated, with stunning gardens. Lots of carved wood and Balinese textiles in the room. The highlight was the restaurant! Gorgeous indonesian dishes at phenomenal prices. Yum!

I've been a regular at Strawberry Hill for some years, and will continue to stay there.. It's owned by Poppies, and the legendary standard of Poppies in Kuta continues here. There is plenty of parking, and gardens are superb. The rooms, individual stand alone buildings, are outstanding in finishes and appointments, sparkling clean. Each room is named after an Indonesian mountain. The restaurant menu is quite good, and breakfast, served in either the restaurant, or your room, is a good standard, both in quality and quantity. Staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi performs well throughout the property. I recommend Strawberry Hill, well placed 48 kms from Denpasar, about 55 from Kuta via Jalan Bypass, as your overnight stop heading to the north coast.

Very nice little comfortable wood chalet, very well furnished. The bathroom was impeccable, nice shower and very nice bathtub. No AC is needed in this area as the nights are quite cold. The only inconvenient of this hotel, although they worked a lot on improving the soundproofing is the location very closed to a main road. The restaurant is good, we tried some of the local dishes, both very tasty. We paid 575kRp/night.

We booked in by chance: the wind and rain got nasty during our motorcycle trip from Ubud to Munduk, so we headed to Strawberry Hill to stay. A wonderful experience at some mere 500 Rp per night: - cosy comfortable chalets with hot water tubs - clean and tidy with beautiful garden - breakfast straight to bed included in price - cosy restaurant with good wood and a fireplace In the end, we were quite happy the weather "forced" us to stay.
