Strawberry Hill's individual cabins incorporate features of a typical Indonesian mountain-style residence, such as wood floors, and wooden-clad walls. Each has a comfortable, colourful and cozy interior, a balcony facing one of Bedugul's dormant volcanoes, and its own en-suite bathroom complete with bathtub and plenty of hot water, for those unexpectedly cool high-altitude evenings. Our restaurant serves tasty Indonesian and international favourites, and on cool nights boasts Bali's only real log fire!
Very nice little comfortable wood chalet, very well furnished. The bathroom was impeccable, nice shower and very nice bathtub. No AC is needed in this area as the nights are quite cold. The only inconvenient of this hotel, although they worked a lot on improving the soundproofing is the location very closed to a main road. The restaurant is good, we tried some of the local dishes, both very tasty. We paid 575kRp/night.

We booked in by chance: the wind and rain got nasty during our motorcycle trip from Ubud to Munduk, so we headed to Strawberry Hill to stay. A wonderful experience at some mere 500 Rp per night: - cosy comfortable chalets with hot water tubs - clean and tidy with beautiful garden - breakfast straight to bed included in price - cosy restaurant with good wood and a fireplace In the end, we were quite happy the weather "forced" us to stay.

Pretty cottages and I'm sure it's because of the climate but the rooms smelt musty. The restaurant was pretty and definitely recommend the waffles for breakfast. The chicken date was yummy but the lamb and beef were tough

You are RIGHT, it's due to the climate! We have experienced an unbelievable amount of rain this past year or more, and often the sun does not shine for several days running. Just rain, cloud, mist, and above all humidity. Very difficult to keep rooms smelling fresh - but we are doing our level best to combat the problem. 1. Windows are opened whenever rooms are empty, to allow cross-flow of air. 2. We have several electric dehumidifiers, which we rotate among the rooms as required. 3. We are experimenting with an air-extractor from high in the roof void, where humidity seems to condense. 4. We will redouble our efforts, and we won't rest till the problem is solved!

Check in was smooth as the room was ready when we arrived. The room was big enough for my family of 2 adults and 2 kids. A just right size balcony for dine in breakfast. Kids like it a lot. Bathroom was okay. Downside is that the shower area was open and the floor of the bathroom gets really wetr after a shower. And also they don't provide shower gel but shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was good but we missed the chance to have breakfast at the restaurant to enjoy the morning view. We enjoyed the dinner. A pity that we didn't get the chance to pick strawberries. Weather was cloudy and drizzled most of the time. Checking out was smooth. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed at Trikora #24.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We always welcome constructive comments. Indeed the shower is open-fronted. We will look into the pluses and minuses of adding a glass door. We do not yet provide shower gel, it's true, but we do provide a bar of soap beside the basin, which can easily be reached from the shower area. Look forward to welcoming you back soon!

The cottage style accommodation is so cute and the gardens are just lovely!!! My room was really clean and comfortable. The bed was so cozy and comfy..when I got in I just wanted to stay in bed ! Bedugul was very cool temperature wise ... the room didn't have a/c and really did NOT need it. If anything, at first I thought it may need heat, but once in bed I was so cozy. The room was a perfect size for one person. The bathroom was nice with a tub and walk in shower. The floors felt very moist from the climate. Only complain is my tv didn't work, although I really didn't come all the way to Bali to watch tv anyways, it would have been nice at night. WiFi didn't work in my room, it only really came in when I was in the restaurant. The hotel is located on a highway a little…

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience. at Strawberry Hill. We were proud to welcome you. Very sorry about the TV, and also not sure why WiFi didn't work in your room. We are looking into both shortcomings, and will fix them. PS. We actually do supply Hot Water Bottles, to ward off the chill! We look forward to welcoming you back one day.

This is a great little hotel, beautiful garden, fantastic rooms, very clean and neat. Food was good, both Breakfast and Dinner. We had a few nights around the fire with a few Cocktails and Beers. Only a few minutes out of Bedugul with majestic views everywhere.

The location of the hotel and the rooms are nice, but it's a shame that there is no swimming pool or airconditioning in the room. There luckily was a fan which you could put on and the temperature here was in general much cooler than in the rest of Bali. The breakfast delivered in the room was a nice plus, but it was way too little for two adults (you had to give your order the night before and could only get one thing per category) and the fresh juices were watered down to half.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a helpful review. Regarding a swimming pool - so far we have not thought of this as a priority. Most Bali visitors enjoy swimming pools at the lower altitudes, and we find that our guests are generally feeling the drop in temperature when they stay with us. We feel therefore that the amount of usage a pool would get might not justify its investment. As to air-conditioning - the same arguments against its installation would apply. Our guests often find the air in Bedugul actually colder than they expected, especially at night, and especially when it's foggy and rainy as well. Also, turning an air-conditioner off because a room is too cold, actually can play havoc with the humidity, and make everything wet inside the room. We feel that a ceiling fan, and the offer of Hot Water Bottles if required, are more appropriate measures to deal with our climate! We are taking steps to improve our fruit juices - thank you for letting us know.

This is an amazing little find. The rooms are excellently appointed surrounded by lush semi tropical gardens, to be enjoyed from your private balcony. There is strawberry picking for the kids. It delightful to snuggle into your quilt at night and enjoy the cool temperatures of the mountains. The staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem. I love this place and have stayed several times.

Ups: - nice bathrooms - lovely staff at restaurant Downs: - Stayed the one loooong night mid of February '17 - The damp mouldy smell doesn't let you sleep and makes you feel sick! Not just a little smell, very bad! We looked at 2 different rooms, some smell less some more, but both of them were bad. - Reception staff wasn't making you feel welcome at all! - The road is very loud - Restaurant food is unenjoyable The price of RP 585,000 is WAY overpriced!

Very sorry you had such a bad experience with us. We have several electric dehumidifiers, which we rotate among the rooms as required. It's a fact that we have had an unusually wet rainy season so far this year, and often that means we go for several days without any sunshine at all. Just rain, cloud, and humidity. Very difficult to keep rooms smelling fresh, but we will redouble our efforts. We're sorry you found our food 'unenjoyable'.

From the moment I arrived at Strawberry Hill Hotel, I felt immediately relaxed and had a sense of comfort, as well as being in awe of the beautiful surrounds. Beautifully manicured gardens and friendly staff are just the beginning of the experience had here. There is also so much to experience with the famous lake Bretan which has a temple on the lake, not to mention the abundance of local fruit, particularly strawberries of course. Thoroughly recommended
