Stayed for 3 nights at Kuda Laut when doing freediving course with Yoshua, and had the best me-time at the resort. Really quiet, and host Cathrin and Yoshua, along with the team who prepare food, cleaning our bungalow was very welcoming and friendly. Can definitely recommend this place for those who visit Pemuteran. Also, it is within walking distance to the beach and the neighbourhood is really nice and quiet.
Can't recommend Freediving with Joshua enough. Pure pleasure, pure play. I did the level 2 course with my fiancé and we loved it. Joshua's laid back approach sense of humor makes learning fun. Will be back! ❤️
Making it to Pemuteran and Kuda Laut was the best part of our Bali trip! The region is authentic and so beautiful and people are kind and open. Staying with you dear Cathrine at Kuda Laut was such a pleasure. Thank you for all your help and flexibility :) We just raided you one morning without any notification and you welcomed us with much kindness. We immediately felt at home! After freediving with Joshua during the days, coming back to our cozy cabana and all your lovely smiley staff was the perfect relaxing combination. You never got tired of giving us the best tips for morning hikes, beach escapes and late night snacks. Thanks for all your help, the good conversations and putting a cherry on top of our whole Bali adventure
We really enjoyed our stay at Kuda Laut. Cathrin and her staff do a great job. And the bungalows (designed by Cathrin herself by the way) are amazing! We loved our whole Bali trip but Kuda Laut was our highlight, especially the banana pancakes :) On top of the great facility, I can also highly recommend diving with Cathrin. She is a very good and relaxed guide, who knows where to dive to see the cool stuff underwater, in particular the smallest stuff which I never would have recognised without her. I hope to come back one day!
Kuda Laut was a surprisingly green and quiet gem in Pemuteran, with beautiful houses and a wonderful staff that makes you feel more than welcome. So if you don't like to go to the big and luxurious resorts but enjoy living on Bali as it should be, go to Kuda Laut.
We stayed here for 4 nights as we anted somewhere relaxed and chilled out and less busy than other parts of Bali but still with plenty to do and that’s exactly what we found here. The accommodation is clean, spacious and with all the things you need - great air con etc. What really sets this place apart though is Cathrin and her team, as well as the amazing experiences available. The beach is a couple of minutes walk and it’s vast and unspoilt as well as quiet, with amazing coral and fish easy to see snorkelling. We went to the nearby national for a day tour, which Cathrin organised for us, and we saw black monkeys, a monitor lizard and the bai starling (beaut!). We also did 2 days of diving - one to learn in the pool and on the beach nearby and then a day trio to mejangen. Cathrin is such a great dive instructor; a great combo of patient, knowledgeable and fun. We saw beautiful corals and fish and just loved it. We really loved the small touches here; like providing snorkelling equipment for our stay and putting out each day in case we fancied a snorkel (which we did most afternoons). Great local, traditional places to eat nearby; especially the mahi mahi right on the beach. Thanks for a fantastic stay; we didn’t want to leave! :)…
We ended up in Pemuteran spontaneously after our original plans had been crossed by the Lombok earthquakes. It turned out to be our favourite place in Bali and I would argue that Kuda Laut is located in the best part of town; far off the main road but with the beach, snorkling spots, and numerous restaurants within 5 minutes walk. It's hard to find a single negative thing to say about the resort itself. Staff, breakfast, bungalows, pool - everything was wonderful. Big, comfortable bed, lots of storage in the bungalow, private relaxing area on the first floor, beautiful half-open bathroom. The garden, pool, and public area are beautiful and relaxing. It seems that everything (lighting, decoration etc.) is well thought through. The owners are beyond warm and welcoming and environmentally conscious. Breakfast was large and delicious, especially the pancakes. Kuda Laut is really a place to wind down and relax in a laid back and quiet atmosphere. We don't dive (so far) but enjoyed our stay nevertheless and would have loved to stay longer.…
When travelling to West Bali, consider this place. Christina and Marcel are very friendly and helpful. Perfect place to relax after a diving or snorkling Adventure. Beautiful cottages in a traditional style.
Nothing to complain about 😋 Catherin and Marcel are perfect hosts, they help us organize our stay and inform us about the region. The personel is charming and caring as well. Note that there are only four bungalows - balinese style with a great outdoor bathroom 😀. This makes this location friendly. Snorkeling or scuba diving is possible with nice corals and beautiful fishes 5 m away from the beach. A trip to Menganan island is a must! Ask Catherin for advise for restaurants - one of her tip is D’Bucu a 300m away. The menu is varied with plenty local dishes at very reasonable prices. We love our stay, it’s 10/10 for sure.
