Nice clean cozy hotel. Actually a old British Bunglow. Food and serivce is good. I was with wife for two nights in December, a simple stay we enjoyed a lot. The bar is very nice. There is a Thai and Indian restaurant just next door, very good quality food.

We enjoyed the room and bar, but had to argue with the manager about what we had and hadn't paid for. We'd asked for an extra bed and didn't appreciate his intimation that we still had to pay for it. Sweet and sour chicken was great as were the noodles. Be sure to stick with Chinese style food in the...

We booked this hotel because it was a love crush of the lonely planet. What a disappointment. A room paid 100US$ the night for : - no hot water, no pressure : at 5 am, on the way to the world's end, we informed the management that there was no hot water in the room. At noon, when we came...

Stayed at the Glendower for one night in December 2016. We were in Room 2 which is an enormous en-suite twin with beautiful views out over the English-style country garden. We were charmed by the Glendower from the moment we arrived; it is a small, mainly single storey Edwardian mock-Tudor building which would not look out of place in England's...

This hotel looked great from the outside when we arrived, it was just after Christmas and so was covered in cute festive lights - very welcoming. Our first hour or so continued that way, when you enter they were preparing the open fire and took us to our nice room (with hot water, yippie!). Unfortunately food was rubbish. My wife...

Great little space. As told by the manager may be more than 150 years old. The service was a bit slow but we were on a vacation, so it's ok. All green around, wooden floors, some British viceroys house, good food, smiling and caring employees. The best place to stay in nuwara elita.

Pleasing facade, old world interiors, charming. Friendly and helpful staff, special mention for Milant and Ramesh. They provide driver's accommodation and meals at no charge which is a great advantage. Located centrally. They have a bar and serve Chinese for dinner. Rooms are spacious, TV is insignificantly small, can barely view it from the bed. The weather doesn't require air con,...

Not a great entrance, but once inside the period furniture and artifacts beckon you.Very cosy place with few rooms with modern fittings. Food is good and reasonably prticed. Well stocked bar. Shortly this hotel will be demolished and new one will come up in its place

Smelly, mouldy, cold, wifi hardly ever working. Definitely not worth the money. We even left a (fully paid) night early, just to get away (our friends wanted to do the same but they fell sick due to the hotel's food...)

The hotel is beautiful from the outside, but is a little bit old inside. They don't have heaters, but were able to provide extra pillows and blanquets to us. It's a cozy place, it worth the money, but I had higher expectations about the rooms. I think they need to improve them a little.
