Lovely old home and garden with several guest rooms. Very welcoming and caring service with recommendations to see and do. Spacious room and bathroom fine but could do with a refresh as a little worn in places plus a little dark as at back of house with no view or sunshine. About a 5 / 10 minute walk to town...

Nice location, close to the city but it needs definitely a refresh. The staff is very nice and takes care of guest. As it is hard to find a perfect place in Nuwara Eliya it is ok for one or two nights.

Beautiful old house that is centrally located. Amazing staff, nothing is too much trouble. Accommodation and food extremely reasonably priced!! Great tours from the doorstep, reasonable prices right from the doorstep. Horton plains - definite highlight along with hagkala gardens and victoria park!

You feel like at home, as an old house converted in a guest house. The owner was very nice, spacious room with fireplace ( it didn't last long time), nice bathroom. Located very close to the city center

For us, Hotel Trevene was great. We had the family room at the front complete with fireplace. Yes there was a marked difference between the two rooms that make up the family room (one very grand the other very much an add on), but we really enjoyed the hotel's general 'feel' with never ending requests for cups of tea met...

The house is very authentic, proper old colonial house with lots of history. It's now own and run by a very nice lady and her family. The staff was extremely kind and helpful with everything we needed. Food was home-made and very tasty. Also the location was very good.

We had a lovely time in The Trevene. The staff Raj and Wiki made our stay really special and personable. We found several nice things to do around town and also hung out drinking tea on the verandah and the garden, which were completely delightful. They made us a fire in the evening in our room. We had a small...

The Trevene Hotel was our life saver in Nuwara Eliya. We were able to move to The Trevene after a bad experience elsewhere and the staff made us feel so welcome and warm. We got a big room with it's own open fire and a bath. It opened off the dning room but this was not a problem. We ate...

Average. Old room, tired, basic. Cold. Bathroom in disrepair. Breakfast basic. Location not the best. I can't recommend it. Not even the price was attractive. It is backpacker accommodation and there are much better (and not expensive) options in Nuwara Eliya. So, avoid it unless your budget and tastes are for backpacking travel.
