A group of 17 consisting of my family and friends occupied 6 rooms there for one night. The exterior and the interior of the building including the gardens were well maintained. As for the fairly expensive room charges we expected the overall hospitality to maintain...More
Very good place to stay in Nuwaraeliya. The hotel is in front of race course ground and near to city as well as to some attractive places such as Victoria park, Gregory lake. Food also good and during weekend special buffet meals available. There is...More
The hotel is a nice building but the rooms are not maintained well. The family room we had was nice but the bathroom was not well maintained. There was no soap holder or place to keep shampoo bottle.
Not worth the price.
The garden in front of the jotel has won many April Bloom awards. You can appreciate many different kinds and colours of flowers.
The garden is very vast that you can walk up and down and around it and get yourselves warm up. The temperature...More
An excellent place to stay for a family with great service and very good food. We had the best opportunity to stay in a colonial building with 5 star service. The property can certainly benefit from some restorative refurbishment and appropriate fittings to toilets and...More

They were not very responsive when we told them that our children had fallen ill. We had asked if there was a doctor on call for the hotel. They just said, no and offered nothing further until prompted. They did state that they were short staffed as some of their people were ill also. We did not find that comforting and were surprised that a hotel of that size, age and quality did not have a doctor on call. We also believe that the water served in the dining room was the source of the children's illness. The adults had gotten up to go to the buffet line and the staff gave the table water to the kids to drink instead of the bottle water we were sticking to. The room service was lacking as we would order and some times it would come and some times it would not. Sometimes a partial order would arrive with out explanation. When we were leaving I had to go down to the desk and go over my room service bills and tell the desk that at times the kitchen just did not send up the food that we ordered. It was with out rhyme or reason. For example, they sent up a large bowl of ice cream before the meal that we ordered. Like it wasn't going to melt before we got our meal !
The illness continued through our party even after we left the hotel and returned home. It really put a damper on the whole trip. Not sure we would stay at this hotel again.
