This is one of my favorite hotels in the area. It is modest - so those looking for fancy need to go elsewhere - but the rooms are clean and comfortable and the best thing about the hotel are the amazing hot springs!!! A 7 minute walk through the humid forrest brings you to a river and rustic and comfortable...

These hot springs are beautiful. You walk about a quarter to half a mile into the forest preserve until you get to the stream. Along the stream are natural looking stone enclosed pools filled with different proportions of the hot spring water, so you can go from cold to hot, or hot to cold, as you choose. While you're floating...

We were in Aguas Zarcas and looking for a one night accommodation. We checked three places, and while this property was the more expensive of the three, it was the best overall value. Rate (was same for single or double!) included a large but a bit outdated room that will sleep 3, two breakfasts and two admissions to the hot...

Before I begin I'd like to point out that Termales del Bosque is located between the towns of Ciudad Quesada and Aguas Zarcas, and is not in the immediate vicinity of Arenal Volcano. I recently stayed here for a second time, just over a year after my first visit. I think some of the poor reviews that have been written...

If you're trying to figure out how to stick in some hot springs without going to Arenal, and doing it on a budget, without sacrificing your desire to be submersed in nature but at the same time being right on a main road with easy access, meanwhile helping a local small/medium business, then this is the place for you. I...

We got there at night after a long drive and being able to chill in the thermals right away was worth the whole trip. If you're looking for luxury and over-manicured landscapes this might not be your cup of tea, but for nature lovers it's a dream. Had some reasonably priced yummy juices which u can charge to the room....

Dark felty rooms, a/c licking water under bed, bugs, cracked tile in bathroom, the shower is just 3 tinny threads of water that you cant regulate temperature. Sheets stinks. It is a place for truckers. Caquero!

This hotel is a short drive from Volcan Arenal, nearl La Fortuna. The property is lovely, rooms were clean. Delicious breakfast is included, staff are very friendly, safe parking, private grounds, amazing hot springs, terrific sports bar (with hot tubs!).

The grounds were lovely, the people were very pleasant and helpful and the food was very good. However, this place is about an hour away from La Fortuna, which was a $60 cab ride each way. (Our travel agent misled us about this fact.) The springs are nice, but they're about a mile away. The staff will happily drive you...

This was our second trip to Termales del Bosque. The area around the springs is lush & green & very hilly. The hot springs themselves are in a natural setting under the trees & made of stone. It's much more economical that the other, more advertised, hot spring resorts. We took a horseback ride, $10 apiece, for an hour, which was one...
