This guest house is definitely unique. If you are use to staying in hotels, then this place not be for you. Mr. Jay the groundskeeper, is a breath of fresh air. He is respectful, polite, and was always making sure my girlfriend and I were okay. The house is hard to find if you aren't familiar with Bourbon street, since...

Do not stay here.... The owner is extremely rude and in his own words has issue with "tourist". He will accuse you of sneaking people in your room and spy on you from his apt Windows. I've never had issue with any other hotel in the quarter. I will sleep on the river walk before I spend another dime at...

We reserved 2 studio suites. Had to pick up our keys across at a diner, which was fine. The rooms smelled very musty, had corroded walls in the kitchen, some lights didn't work or had to be shut off by crawling under a table to unplug, the pillows were hard and flat and the spare pillows/blankets in the closet (which...

We stayed here during Jazz Fest last year and had a wonderful time. Jay, the inn keeper, was wonderful, pleasant and really helpful when trying to figure out what to do in the area. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful and well kept and you really can't beat the location or the price! It's just beyond the wild/loud part of Bourbon,...

We really liked this place. The area was fantastic (parking takes a long time to find, it's street only). We had a few problems though. The bathroom was insanely small. The shower reminded me of a camp house shower, where it was tiny and it kind of sprayed out of the shower and you couldn't reposition it so it basically...

I called months ago to book a room for a wedding March 2015. I was told that I was penciled in and to call back in December when they had their new calander. I just called and now this place is booked up and no reservation for me!! What a crappy way to do business!!!! Other places were way too...

So we really wanted to like this place. It appeared to have so many of the characteristics we seek in lodging - historic property, guest house, small, character, a even a bit adventurous knowing that it's at a very resonable price. This place had all those things. . . . we LOVED the location. . . right on Bourbon but...

We stayed in the Green Suite. A perfect getaway. The suite is huge, with a full kitchen and bath. There is a private gallery overlooking the lush courtyard, and a walk out balcony on Bourbon Street . Our host, J was so wonderful and made us feel so welcome. He also gave us great tips for restaurants and entertainment. We...

Horrendously small rooms. No receipt sent by any means (FAX, eMail, snail mail) to verify the reservation. One must consummate the arrival in a dry cleaners next door or a breakfast joint across the street. Nasty owner; went totally bonkers on accidental loss of so-called antique chair.

We stayed in the green suite for three nights and it was amazing! This room is huge, spacious, and beautiful. We had 6 people—we were supposed to have the green suite and a studio, but there was a mixup so we all stayed in the green suite—and it fit everyone just fine. Jay kindly provided an air mattress after the...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
