Last minute plans for New Orleans left me searching for a room in the quarter for a weekend just several weeks from Mardis Gras. I was surprised to be able to find a room at such a nice hotel. Whenever I book a room I usually check out the hotel on TripAdvisor and then call direct and speak to local...

This was our first trip to New Orleans and we could not have asked for a better experience. The Dauphine is perfectly situated a block away from Bourbon. The staff were friendly, answered our questions, and set us in the right direction around the Quarter. The hotel itself is chic, clean, and not cookie-cutter. They offered breakfast every morning and...

My girlfriends and I checked in no problem, very friendly staff. The room was clean but felt dated. Our room was on the street side with a balcony which was nice to hang out on, but so loud at night that it kept us up. Overall, hotel was so so, definitely not worth $250 a night..

The whole experience from booking the room to Valet Parking to checking was a dream!!! Lisa in May Bailey's was very interesting to talk to with good information on where to eat. There are some real gems within walking distance of the hotel. The only problem that I had was the mattress was a little too soft & that's a...

We loved the beds and location! Only bad thing is don't get a room overlooking the parking garage because it echoes when the workers talk and its really loud. I would stay here again ! I didn't complain because we got up early but if I was sleeping in I would have been mad.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Dauphine Orleans. The staff was lovely; our stay in the Herman House was delightful. At check in, we told the staff that we met in New Orleans and had returned to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. As a surprise, the staff had champagne sent to our room. I liked this hotel but I may look elsewhere next time I’m in NOLA. The location was great as it was close enough to walk to everything in the Quarter but not on a crazy street like Bourbon or Decatur. The hotel was in good shape and clean. I loved the old school industrial toilet! Nice little pool in the...

My wife and I love the hotel. It is old but close to bourbon and great restaurants. Quiet and a great atmosphere. It is old and rooms are small but nice. We didn't want to stay right on Bourbon Street, so we chose the Dauphine. The upgrade room with a balcony was right next to a busy street. Truck traffic, garbage collection, screaming all night long. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
