The New Orleans InterContinental hotel is near most of the New Orleans riverside and French Quarter attractions...on a quiet side street. A great value for the $100/nte we "snagged" from HOTWIRE.COM. Entry to the property is a bit tight and limited, the lobby shows a bit of use, but is clean, secure and inviting. The real surprise is the quality...

Booked three rooms for family during the first weekend of Mardi Gras to celebrate my 60th birthday! Great location for parades and quick walk or Uber to French Quarter, and Uptown. The rooms were nicely appointed and we especially enjoyed the balcony rooms! It was fun to be outside and enjoy the sounds of the parades! Staff was friendly and...

My husband and I traveled to New Orleans for a friend's wedding, this past MLK weekend. We stayed at the Intercontinental on St. Charles, and took advantage of the wedding rate staying for 3 nights. Whenever I book a reservation anywhere, I always request a room on an upper floor, away from the ice machines and elevators, this was no...

I had a corporate rate here which included breakfast. For the value, it was fantastic. The room is really well appointed, spacious, and clean. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet which, if coming out of pocket for, is expensive. If included in your rate, it's well worth attending. The lobby here is very nice and the restaurant in the lobby...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
