I thought that since I reserved this room through the Priceline "Mystery" deal, and got it for a song, we might not be treated quite as well as if we had paid more. I was so mistaken. From the moment we check in, we were given top notch treatment by the entire staff. And our housekeeper, Lidia, was the best....

I stayed here for a quick overnight trip. The way the hotel is designed you have direct access to Canal and Bourbon Street but it doesn't have access to you. The rooms offer a tranquil sophisticated atmosphere. So no matter the reason for your visit the JW offers a delightful setting. Also the staff seemed to be helpful and accommodating.

Great hotel in a great city. We stayed at the JW Marriott during French Quarter Fest. This was the perfect location. Close but far enough away to act as our oasis. Great people and great rooms. Very quiet with an excellent Executive Lounge for breakfast and snacks. Will definitely return.

When it comes to a hotel I tend to be very practical. I want a clear comfortable room in a good location. The JW Marriott fit this bill - the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was located on Canal street directly across from the French Quarter. Location made it very easy to get around. I...

I've stayed in more than a few JW's on business travel. This one is just okay. Some staff is great, others barely know you're there. Rooms are small, but it is in a great location. The bar and restaurant are hugely overpriced, but good atmosphere. Rooms are often available. Not the best JW, but comfortable enough.

I stay at the JW often in New Orleans. The hotel is upscale, clean, and comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with great staff. The Valet and Bell Staff are super helpful and attentive. The corner rooms on high floors have great views of the city and the river. The hotel is close to the French Quarter and...

The JW Marriott Hotel is perfectly located on Canal Street between Bourbon and Decatur Streets right in front of the French Quarter. The streetcars (in the median strip) are directly across the street. Walgreens, CVS, a department store, cute boutiques, souvenir shops + tons of restaurants are closeby. Harrah's Casino is a short walk down Canal street. The JW is...

Location is perfect for anything you’re going to do by the water front or in the French Quarter. Hotel is very nice and up to date as you would expect a JW Marriott to be. Buffy Breakfast was very overpriced and there were not many choices but within just a couple of blocks there are many good restaurants.

And Fogo de Chao in the lobby! What's not to love? You are within walking distance to the Franch Quarter yet not IN the French Quarter for when you want some breathing room. Nice pool, great staff. Valet is a little expensive ($45 a night) but worth it for the piece of mind.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
