Stayed for French Quarter Fest. Unbeatable location. Convenient parking, fast & nice valets. Front desk and bellman super friendly. Beautiful courtyard and pool...tons of character. Rooms are comfortable and have classic NOLA features (exposed brick walls, high ceilings and similar) but aren't luxurious. Continental breakfast is served in a pretty, sunny little room.( The breakfast itself isn't much but who...

My husband and I have stayed at the PdA four out of our five visits to New Orleans. The only occasion we did not stay here we booked at the Provencial over on Ursulines (the Place d'Armes was already booked full with a convention). On our first visit we were able only to secure an interior room which was dark...

Make sure when you stay here, that you get the newer part of the property for your room. We stayed here twice. The first time was a very pleasant stay. Our room was very quaint and had the old French setting. The second time, we were in a very old part of the property and our room was not so...

We didn't choose to pay for a balcony room, so our room was rather dark. Otherwise, the room had the charm of New Orleans. Very comfortable bed, air conditioning worked very well (great due to the warm and humid weather), nicely updated bathroom. The courtyard was a beautiful place to relax morning, afternoon, or evening. Since we really don't want...

Would most definitely stay here again. Had a room on the second floor with a window. This floor also had a hallway leading to a large balcony with a table and chairs facing Chartres St. The hotel itself gives the feeling of old New Orleans with brick, fountains, courtyards, and trees. The continental breakfast isn't much to boast about but...

The place d armes is a beautiful old hotel!!! I am a little bit picky when it comes to hotel accommodations and this place was great! I was a little nervous about my "inner" room, but since you really only shower and sleep there, I found that it wasn't an issue at all. All of the staff is wonderful and...

Hotel with character - originally a school built in the 18th cent. (reputably has a ghost) . Very comfortable room overlooking St Ann's Street didn' present a problem. Cool Courtyard. Continental breakfast was adequate, what do you expect for free. Obliging staff. Convenient for Jackson Sq. & the riverfront tram. French Market Place worth a visit - great CD stall.

I can't imagine a better location for a hotel in New Orleans. It is on a quiet side street but is right across from the cathedral, half a block from Jackson's Square, a block and a half from Cafe Du Monde, as well as half a block off Royal! Very close to the water front trolley that can lead you...

We were here for the Final Four weekend. Many things were booked and prices were exhorbitant everywhere. This hotel was reasonable in comparison and couldn't have been better for us. It's location is right across from Jackson Square and a few quick blocks from Bourbon Street. It was clean and nicely decorated. I would stay here again. It has a...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
