New Orleans can overwhelm me with its constant party atmosphere, and Soniat House is a gracious breath of fresh air. Our suite was lovely, and the location could not have been more convenient for us as we enjoyed walking and exploring the city.

Please come back often.
This is our third stay at Soniat House, the first was 21 years ago. The service, ambience, decor, location is everything one could want for a quiet, romantic bed and breakfast stay in NOLA. The morning coffe and made to order biscuits are perfect to...More

Heaven from start to finish. Classic and well done Southern fare, a LOVELY staff, a beautiful building full of history and charm but that doesn't feel old or stuffy, great amenities, very comfortable, a stunning botanical courtyard garden right out of a Hemingway novel and...More

This historic hotel is located on the fringe of the action and within walking distance of many restaurants, the French Market, and shops. Yet, it is so quiet, it feels worlds away. We stayed in the building where the office is located in #16. It...More

I'm often suspicious of breathless reviews, and Soniat House has plenty of them. But this is an unusual place that deserves all of the praise it receives.
It's a charming property, very well-located in the French Quarter -- in a setting that's convenient, but well...More

I am so pleased that you were not disappointed by the Soniat House. It is not an easy atmosphere to maintain but it is the reviews that keep us trying.
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
