We did not have a very good experience at all. We booked a one bedroom for may family of four. We were there for one hours and left on our own as the place was unacceptable. We just came from a 8 day cruise and was happy that we were going to stay in a property that was at the...

We arrived on the first day of the Mardi Gras season, Jan. 6, 2017, it was unseasonably cold, but that only lasted 3 days, temps went from 27 Friday to 65 Monday. Hotel staff was amazing, making sure we knew what was going on, and how to get where we wanted to go. Very responsive if we had any issues,...

When we first walked in the door, our first impression was that it was just kind of ok. That said, as our stay went on, we liked it more and more. How many times have you been overly impressed with your first three minutes of interaction with the staff, only to be slightly disappointed as time went on? This was...

Stayed here when we were unable to stay at our usual hotel. There are many positives about this hotel. It is EXTREMELY convenient to one end of the Riverfront Streetcar, as well as the French Market and many restaurants and shops on the Esplanade end of the French Quarter. In general, it is a very quiet location. Our first night,...

My husband and I had a 2 bd. suite with my son and his wife. I had a broken ankle and the hotel even arranged for an electric scooter that I could go everywhere in. Location was great, price was great, parking was fine, the dip pool wouldve been enjoyable if I couldve gotten my ankle wet. The room had...

When you can walk a block to the French Market, you can overlook the outdated furniture, carpet and fixtures. I bought the timeshare on an impulse and still can't decide if I'm pleased. If you are looking for pristine, modern accommodations, you will be disappointed. If you want to step back into the 70's this could be your place.

We've been staying here for 8+ years! It's just like the description, 19th century provincial so should be no surprises. The location is superb, the staff are inviting and very informative, and the units are clean. We've stayed at many hotels in the FQ over the years and while most of the decor is similar, in our mind, the customer...

Rooms are so small and outdated. They snell old and musty with poor natural lighting. It says it's a 4 star hotel however it's a 1 star service. We unloaded and carried our own bags with young kids in tow. Absolutely horrible place. The only benefit they have is that they are close to the French Quarter.

If you want to spend time in the French Quarter and up Frenchmen Street, you couldn't ask for a better location. Though quaint, the property is not bearing its age well. Furnishings are aged and uncomfortable. Pillows are hard to sleep on. Parking, though free, is terrible. It's location that saves this place.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
