The bed was comfortable but the room had paint pealing off the ceiling. Not something I expect from Doubletree. Food was good, staff was awesome. Tried to go green but they kept replacing towels on a nine day stay

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

First, the location is great. Located on the corner of Canal St. and S. Peters, the Doubletree puts you one block from the French Quarter, while still keeping you away from the noise and crowds. The Doubletree is located right across from the casino, and walking distance to many attractions in the central business district and downtown. Going to the...

The overall appearance of the hotel is average. Nothing real spectacular. It is in a great location on Canal Street near Harrah's Casino and only a short walk to the French Quarter. If you use valet, don't expect to get to leave anytime soon, however. We presented the 1st half stub of our valet ticket at approximately 9:24 AM on...

Funds were held on my account for this stay which made it seem like I paid twice for my stay. The hotel staff made it seem like it was my bank that held the funds, which it clearly wasn't. I was charged five courtesy charges of $29 each for each transaction I made because of this.

This is Hilton! It is not some privately owned French quarters hotel. If you are a regular Hilton return customers, you should lower your expectations. Overall, I'd recommend to stay at the Hilton next door or the Hampton Inn close by. The room was clean but staff service was alarming. The front desk was polite but not the rest.

The hotel has been recently renovated and is nice and modern. The rooms are small, but otherwise fine. The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The WOW cafe staff are engaging and entertaining.

We stayed here for a weekend trip with friends. The location is great, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the middle of the French Quarter. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative was that the hot water seemed to run out kind of quickly in the shower.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most attractions. There is a coffee shop connected to the building as a bonus. The staff at this location is very helpful, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The only negative about this property is that the elevator causes constant noise within the rooms, much like a wind tunnel.

Such a beautiful hotel and perfect location for everything. Literally walking distance from bourbon, casino, riverwalk, food, and much more! Definitely coming back soon! The front desk was also very helpful with recommendations. Thanks

I stayed two nights at the Doubletree before my cruise . The hotel was just finishing a major remodeling of every room and hotel lobby, it was like the hotel just opened its doors brand new. My room was reasonably priced and on a high floor with a view of the Mississippi river . Harrahs casino is across the street...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
