What a pleasant place to stay. We were in NOLA for a sailing regatta at Southern Yacht Club a mile away. Ruby called us ahead of time to make sure she'd be there to greet us, give us a tour, and explain all the logistics. Pete and Ruby both welcomed us with open arms as if we were family. The...

We loved Rose Manor and the hosts. The B&B is lovely, room well equipped, large, and with beautiful furnishings. Lots of space available to gather with friends in the building or outside on the porch. Pricing reasonable as well, a perfect spot for us to meet up with long time friends. We recommend this B&B. I rarely write reviews but...

Awesome place to stay. Beautiful B and B, clean and beautiful decorated. Close to bus stop for public transportation and also close to major arteries if you drive. 15 minutes to the French Quarter, except for Mardi Gras.

After being welcomed by the hosts Rose and Peter giving us a little guided tour of the hotel we felt really welcomed for the start and knew we was going to enjoy our stay there. The hotel is very quirky and has a unique feel to it which is great when travelling. We would recommend anybody to stay here when...

The home is located about 15 mintues from the French Quarter. Its extremely clean and comfortable. Peter and Rose are excellent hosts. I would recommend this Bed & Breakfast for people looking to stay outside of the French Quarter, in a safe and quiet area and a good value for the $. The breakfast includes srambled eggs & toast, french...

Finding good lodging at a reasonable price is challenging in New Orleans. This is a great option, have stayed several times and will stay here again when visiting in the future. Location is just south or Lake Ponchatrain about 20 minutes to French Quarter.

This is by far the most hospitable Bed and Breakfast I've ever been to! The hosts are unbelievably caring, the rooms are extremely comfortable, it's nice and quiet, and every morning they cook breakfast how you want it.

We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed staying here. From the start, Ruby and Peter were very welcoming and knew who we were. Very helpful with my heavy cases. I am not able to lift heavy items and Peter helped here. We were offered a drink and chose a 'cup of english tea' rather than wine...good tea is...

What a GREAT spot to stay! 10 Minutes out of the busy city, the Rose Manor is absolutely delightful. A charming house with big giant bedrooms. I stayed in the "Magnolia" room. It was perfect for me, bright, airy and quiet! Breakfast delicious every day - lots of choices. I really liked having 4 restaurants next door, not including Pizza...

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
