Our hosts Ruby and Peter were so warm and made all the guests feel like family. Breakfast was like sitting in your dining room with your large family talking about everything and anything. Everyone shared their experiences, where to eat, what to visit, which tours were interesting. Ruby and Peter were also full of suggestions and always asking how our...

We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. Ruby, one of the owners I would assume was very friendly and helpful. It felt more like staying with family or friends than a hotel. We stayed in the magnolia room in the back, the furthest away. The room was nice, be careful of...

We have stayed in New Orleans many times, but our stay at the Rose Manor Inn was outstanding. From our cozy room to the friendly and personable hosts (Peter and Ruby) to the multicultural guests at breakfast, this was a wonderful experience. If you want to escape the noise and chaos of the Quarter, this is the place for you!...

Peter and Ruby welcome you as old friends, and continually make you feel comfortable in this lovingly restored mansion. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, there are two sitting rooms, and we particularly enjoyed the communal breakfast table. Enjoying a fresh cooked breakfast, we had wonderful conversations from fellow residents, comparing sites and restaurants in and around New Orleans....

I had to attend a class at a local university; I stayed at Rose Manor for 5 days. Pete and Ruby are so kind, friendly, and accommodating. It was like I was staying with friends and family. My class began early each day, so Pete graciously cooked breakfast before regular time for me. There are many great restaurants within walking...

Home away from home with innkeepers so friendly that our stay was 110% better!! They are very knowledgable about the bestplaces to see, eat,and do. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Located a short easy drive from downtown, slightly off the beaten pass. Not a place for young children but excellent for couples! Thank you so much Ruby and Peter!!

I booked this place for Mardi Gras late in the game and was shocked to find all the value this had to offer. A true gem of a place, located in the safe and upscale area of Lake Ponchartran Marina, city of New Orleans. About 8 miles north of the French Quarter, the short drive is full of many historic...

This is our 2nd stay at Rose Manor & we now view it as a home away from home. Comfy rooms, bed & showers, with great breakfast. The innkeepers Ruby & Peter are icing on the delicious cake. We can't wait to return to the Big Easy & stay at the Inn again.

We were lucky to find such a super place - and the location suited us fine, as we wanted to be up by the lake. Easy parking, quiet location, lovely house, great welcome. If you get a chance, pop up to the two yacht clubs: Southerly and New Orleans and say hello to the people over a beer.

We spent 2 nights with Ruby and Peter and can't wait to return. Ruby and Peter make this place special and worth going. They truly make you feel as though you are their guest at their home. We wish that we weren't so busy with obligations while in NOLA just so we could experience more of their charm. We stayed...

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
